C. E. Ramsey was at Indianapolis Thursday. Mrs. John Anderson and Mrs. Henry Starbuck, who have been in poor health for so many months, are not so well.
The Rev. W. H. Gray and wife are the proud parents of a new baby boy that arrived last week. He will be known as Walter Dale Gray.
Mrs. Alta Pearson StelYy died at her home, south of town, Monday, of a complication of diseases. The funeral ser/ices were held at the Friends church Wednesday morning in charge of the pastor. Rev. Wilson, assisted by Rev. Binford. Mrs. Steffy leaves a husband and two little daughters, Doris and Florence. They will make their home with Mr. Steffy's father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. George Steffy, in town.
The ladies of the Christian church will give an ice cream social next Saturday evening, June 10th. They will be pleased to have a large crowd to patronize them.
Men are tearing down the school house, so the new building can be erected.

If the Wilkinson boys keep on at their "slaughter of the innocents," they ought to be entitled to the amateur championship.
Mr. Pratt, of Maxwell, brought in a string of four young horses to work out on the race track this season.

S. C. Staley was at Indianapolis Sunday. Weir Cook, of Anderson, was visiting friends here the latter part, of last. week.
The Greenfield Military Band furnished the music for the Memorial services Sunday. They gave excellent music and also they are fine lads personally. Will White, of this vicinity, plays in the band.
Frank Sipe and wife, and Henry Smith and family were over from Willow to assist .in the exercises at the grove Sunday.
George B. Morris and wife were visiting at, II. R. Walker's Sunday. Aunt Margaret McCray, widow of the late Stephen McCray, came over Sunday to visit her daughter, Mrs. Clay Martindale. She is nearly 80 years old.
Messrs. Charles O. and James W. Mogle and wives were visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Mogle, Sunday, at New Castle.

Samuel Scott has been on the sick list for some time, but is now improving.

The children's entertainment was a success. There were 250 men, women and children in the house, and the collection was $15.05.
Sunday school at 9:30, preaching at 10:30 Y. P. C. U. at. 7:15. The delegates of the Y. P. C. U. will leave here Tuesday for Terre Haute to attend the convention. They are Etta Hawkins and Stella Snider.

The Modern Woodmen camp of this place will hold their memorial services at the M. E. church Sunday, June lltli, at 2 o'clock. All the Woodmen camps are invited.
Miss Ruth West returned home Saturday after a visit with J. W. Robbins and family, on Route 10.

The Modern Woodmen and Royal Neighbor Lodges will hold Memorial services Sunday afternoon at the Baptist church. Rev. J. G. Colter will give the address.

Miss Orzie Sewell, of West Fourth street, who has been carrying a pension policy in the Indiana Life Endowment Insurance Company, of Evansville, Ind., is now, under the terms of the policy, a pensioner, and entitled to $20 per month as long as she lives, or to the time when she has drawn $3,000. In case of her death before (lie face of the policy is drawn, her mother, who is her beneficiary after death, draws $100. and $20 per month until I lie face of (he policy has been drawn.
Miss Sewell look out a policy about one year ago, through the agency of William II. Toney, of this city, and paid and will continue to pay a premium of $1.00 per month. Under the terms of the policy, when the policy holder becomes totally and permanently disabled from certain stipulated causes, he becomes a pensioner. This is the condition of Miss Sewell, and she is now provided with a pension of $20 per month until she has drawn the face of her policy, or in case ,of death the monthly pension goes lo her mother. d&w
