ONE FATALLY SHOT
Little Charles McDaniels Near Shirley
Shot In Abdomen By Brother—
Slipped Gun From House.
Little Charles McDaniels, age nine years, son of Joseph Mc Daniels, northwest of Shirley, was shot in the abdomen Saturday by a gun in the Siands of his brother and fatally wounded.
The boy and his older brother Roy .aged
12
years, slipped a rifle from the
Ihouse and fired once at a rabbit. *The mechanism of the repeater was out of order aud the gun missed fire the next time. Charles caught the muzzle of the repeater and his brother had hold of the stock. In some manner the gun was discharged and the little boy fell to the ground. "While he was resting a little easier Monday, after treatment by physicians it is thought that he cannot recover, but was still living this morning.
Take Care!
When the kidneys are affected, life is in danger Bead what Foley Kidney Pills have done for your neighbor. W. W. Rigdon, Greenfield, Ind., says:
4
'My kidneys and back have caused me a great deal of suffering in the last four years. Nothing seemed to •do me any good until I took Foley Kidney Pills which were recommended to me. I had pains over my Mps and in my back right over the Mdneys. The action was very irregaalar and caused much irritation. 'The trouble affected my whole system, •making me nervous, with dull head.aches on arising and spells of vertigo. The faithful use of Foley Kidney Pills (dispelled all my misery and all symptoms of kidney trouble disappeared." M. C. Quigley.
MANY CANDIDATES FOR MORDISIOWN OFFICE
The Morristown postoffice race has become interesting. There are many candidates for this job, which pays $1,100 a year, and none of the candidates are sure of their chances it seems. Before leaving for Washing ton to attend his last session of -congress, Congressman Barnard said he would not make the recommendation for poscmas'er at that place until ?he had been at Washington several •days. He also has an appointment at CJenterville to make.
Among the applicants for the Morristown office are W. H. Miller, John Wortman, Charles Rigdon, John Benznefcfc, Charles Rock, John Harper and postmaster, Will Phillippy.
A Simple Safeguard for Mothers. Mra. D. Gilkeson, 326 Indies Ave.. "Yonngstown, Ohio, gained wisdom by experience. "My' little girl had a severe cold and coughed almost continuously. My sister recommended Foley's Honey and Tar. The first dose I gave her relieved the inflama tion in her throat and after using only one bottle her throat and lungs were •entirely free from inflammation. Since then I always keep a bottle of Foley's Honey and Tar in the house. Accept no substitute*. M. C. Quigley.

DUTY OF PARENTS TO VISIT SCHOOLS
Children's Training and Education of
More Importance Than Business
or Work.
How many of our school children's parents ever visit the schools or even know the teachers when they meet them on the street? How many know what their children are studying, or how they are progressing? Is there any who have a building to make or a fence to build a dress to make a house to paint, or whatever the job may be, that say to the hand you have employed: '"Here are the tools and material, go ahead apd do it to suit yourself and it will suit me." Is not that what many of you are doing with your children? You say by your actions: "Here is my child, with its books, paper and pencil. I've furnished material and tools, educate him as you like." Now we hear some of you say: "The teacher knows better what they ought to study than I do." While that may be past true, the carpenter, or a dressmaker, or a painter knows better how to do the work than you do, yet you do not leave it all to them. On the rising generation depends the welfare of this great nation. Patrons and parents, take more interest in our schools and visit them often, and by your presence give the teachers more encouragement ask them how your children are doing. Perhaps a few minuses talk with them will save trouble that years to come will never undo. Think about this and ask yourself if you are doing right.

Persons sending news to this paper through the postoffice should keep in mind that no written matter except postal cards can be sent through the postoffice for less than two cents. When such matter is mailed without sufficient postage it is held up in the postoffice for postage and the delivery delayed. This accounts for the fact that many reports sent to the office are delayed in publication.
The greatest danger from influenza is of its resulting in pneumonia. This can be obviated by using Chamberlain's Oough Remedy, ah it not only cures influenza, but counteracts any tendency of the diseare towards pneumonia. Sold by all druggists,

SUBMIT II REPORT ON CLERK'S OFFICE
State Field Examiners Charge $163.15
Against Service With Credits of
$170.70. Makes $7.55 Due Him.
A report of State field examiners, Ira Holland and Will A. Rundell, on the county clerk's office, as published in the Indianapolis Star Sunday, did Clerk W. A. Service an injustice as the article did not give the credits due Mr. Service.
As far zs it went the article was correct, the recapitulation of amounts being due the county from the clerk on January 1, 1910 being $163.15. This however, is less a credit of $78.80 in different fees which was paid over by the clerk at his quarterly settlement, and $91.90, the amount overpaid to Ex-sheriff John A. Carlton through a mistake. These are all shown on the field examiners' report and a recommendation that the clerk be reimbursed in the amount of $91.90 overpaid the ex-sheriff.
This would leave the county in debt to the clerk in the sum of $7.55 according to the figures of the field examiner's report. The report shows that in the three years of Mr. Service's term covered by the examination, he has hnndled $18,820.16.
HAPPY WOMEN
Plenty of Them in Greenfield, Good Reason for It.
Wouldn't any woman be happy, After years of backache suffering, Days of misery, nights of unrest, The distress of urinary troubles, She finds relief and cure? No reason why any Greenfield reader
Should suffer in the face of evidence like this: Mrs. Charles Byers, 101 N. Pratt Street, Greenfield, Ind., says: "I feel very grateful for the benefit received from Doan's Kidney Pills. About three years ago I suffered intensely from pains across my back and in my kidneys. I had dizzy spells and I was convinced that my kidneys were out of order. Reading about Doan's Kidney Pills, I got a box at Quigley's drug store and I must confess that I never took another medicine that gave such satisfaction. It required the contents of only one box of Doan's Kidney Pills to effect a cure. Since then I have kept this remedy in the house and a few doses have always relieved me when I have need of a kidney medicine. Other members of my family have taken Doan's Kidney Pills and in each instance the results have been satisfactory. I have previously given a public statement telling of my experience and at this time I gladly re-endorse Doan's Kidney Pills."

Murat Theatre.
Following the three nights engagement of "The Midnight Sons" at the Shubert Murat Theatre, Indianapolis, is another splendid attraction, also a musical comedy or rather to be more explicit and to follow the description given by the New York critics "A Comedy with Music" entitled "Tbey Loved a Lassie," libretto by George Arliss and score by Silvio Hein, featuring Charles E. Evans, the inimitable comedian and Adele Ritchie, one of America's most popular comediennes. Mr. Evans and Miss Ritchie are supported by a large company, including a carefully selected chorus of girl Kilties and specialists in Scottish swordplay, dances and pastimes.
The Highland part of the entertainment, coming in the second act, is incidental to the comic story of the escapade of two Londoners who leave their wives for a mythical ocean journey and encounter the very person they are trying to escape—a music hall divinity they had courted in their joyous bachelor days.
The song hits include "Hi! Hi! Little Girl," "The Banshee." "Love Among the Roses" and "My Mary." "They Loved a Lassie" has been playing to crowded houses on its tour since leaving New York. The engagement is for three nights only, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8, 9, 10, with a matinee on Saturday. Seats are now on sale. Prices, 50c, 75c, $1.00 and $1.50.
