HERE AND THERE.

Joseph Roberts, of near Westland, called on her son Arthur and family Monday.

Mrs. Alice Walker and daughter, of Fortville, visited T. S. Brizendine and family Wednesday afternoon.

Lincoln Bolen, of Fortville, was at his farm on Route 5, Wednesday evening.

Riley Jacob, who has been sick for sometime, was able to be out riding in his fatherinlaw's auto Thursday.

William Keaster and wife were shopping at Greenfield Saturday and attended the Baptist meeting.

Robert McConnell, who lives on the Marsh farm near Greenfield had the first field of wheat in shock.

Eden Sunday School attendance 60, collection 95 cents. The funeral of John Kelly occurred at Eden Sunday at 2 p. in. He was an old soldier and the G. A. R. Post of Fortville gave their ritual at the grave. The funeral service was conducted by one of his army comrades, the Rev. Marcellus Walker. The family has the sympathy of the entire neighborhood.

Several from this neighborhood spent the fourth at McCordsville. RURAL ROUTE 6.

W. H. Pauley and family, W. B. Pauley and family and Emery Dunn, wife and daughter spent the Fourth in Indianapolis.

James Hiday, wife and daughter, Ruby Aleen, were the guests of her parents, Asberry James and wife Saturday and Sunday.

Mrs. Chas. Foster entertained Monday evening Clarence Shelby and wife, of Indianapolis, M. T. Willett, wife and son, Clarence, Lydia Carter and Earl Willett and wife, of route four.

Benjamin Yotuig and daughter, Dorris, were at Fairmount Monday. Mrs. T. J. Wilson, of Greenfield, is spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. P. A. Card.

Silas Wiggins and family, Roy Glascock and wife, Cleveland Wiggins and wife attended the funeral of Wesley Keller at Eden Sunday.

Una Trees is visiting Cicero Newhouse and family, of Blueriver township. She will return to her home Saturday.

George Marts and family, of Irvington, were the guests of Elmer James Saturday and Sunday.

Gus Young and family are visiting Benjamin Young and family. Julian Strahl is up now after four weeks of sickness. He has added to the appearance of his place by moving his barn back farther from the house.

Elmer James and family attended the funeral of Mrs. Robinson Sunday. Earl Lanham and wife, Rol Fishburn and wife and Leroy Glascock and wife were at Spring. Lake Park Monday.

W. H. Pauley and family, W. B. Pauley and family and Emery Dunn and wife went fishing on Blue River Saturday. They all reported a good time.

Lena James entertained Roy Cox, of Westland. Sunday evening. Opal James and Earl Jessup were at Spring Lake Park Monday.

Nona Spilker, of Philadelphia, entertained Selma Thompson Sunday.

Rhehema Dawson, who has been spending a few weeks with her daughter at Pendleton, has returned home.

John Jones, of Anderson, spent Saturday and Sunday with O. P. Keller andtwife.

Gus Albea and wife were visiting Levi Jackson and wife Sunday. Jesse Jackson and family were guests of W. A. Preas and family Sunday.

Henry Rogers has purchased a new engine for his sawmill. S. M. Gable was at Indianapolis Monday.

Rosa Poole and daughter, .Helen, were calling on Julia Spear near Mendon Thursday.

C. H. Troy and family were calling on friends here Thursday evening. Ad Millner and family were at Wilkinson Thursday evening.

Alma Keller spent Tuesday with Ethel Keller. Belle Troy and daughter were visiting Walter W. Troy and wife Tuesday.

Several from here attended the Sunday school picnic at Wilkinson Sunday.

E. J. Keller, O. P. Keller, W. A. Preas and Herman Poole made a business trip to Greenfield Tuesday.

Cecil Collingwood spent Sunday with Marge Troy. Quinn Wright and son were touring through our midst Thursday.

Sam Moore and wife, of Eden, spent Sunday with the latter's parents, Cyrus Manning and wife.

Ray and Clay Wilson were at McXordsville Monday. & The fireworks were a grand success here Monday evening.

Will Jackson and wife, of near Pendleton, were visiting F. M. Jackson and wife Tuesday.

Charles Marckle was at Pendleton Tuesday.

Miss Belva Andrick, of Alexandria, is spending a few days here with friends.

Much wheat is being harvested this week. Lee Hannah and family spent Sunday and Monday the guests of F. M. Brizendine and family.

Charles Robbins and wife and Elmer Robbins and family called on Mrs. Marion Gant Sunday evening.

Will Swarmes is improving. Mabel Burch spent Sunday with Ella Foster.

Mrs. F. M. Brizendine spent Saturday with her daughter, Luna Hannah at Greenfield.

The families of Charles and Lee Robbins were helping Ed Robbins put up hay Saturday.

Eva Bodkins spent the latter part of last week with the family of W. Watkins.

Elmer Robbins and family took dinner Sunday with Jasper Burch and family.

Atiey Brizendine and wife entertained at dinner Monday F. M. Brizendine and wife, Mrs. Lee Hannah and children, of Greenfield. Ernest Brizendine and Muriel Clouser, of Bluffton.

Hannah Cottrell spent Thursday with Mabel Burch. Several from here were shopping in Greenfield Saturday.

Mrs. Frank Craft and daughters, Helen and Louise, and son, John visited Ernest Lane and family at Bloomington from Friday until Tuesday.

Mrs. Ex-nest Bender and daughters, Alice and Louise, of Greencastle, spent part of last week -with Walter Daubenspeck and family.

George Crider and wife, Indianapolis, visited Nerius Cox and family Saturday and Sunday.

Ray Herkless, of Marion, spent the Fourth with his parents, George Herkless and wife.

Claude Shields, of Anderson, visited his parents, Conrad Shields and wife part of last week.

W. R. White spent Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth White. Glenn and Dorothy Bell and Mabel Walker were at Cumberland visiting Ben Strickland and (family Sunday.

Mrs. Hazel Lewis Shelby died Sunday night at 12 o'clock. She leaves a husband and a baby one month old. Funeral at the Friands' church Wednesday morning at lOio'clock. Interment at Walnut Ridge.

Charles Cross and family visited Riley Watson and family Sunday. Ethel Lewis was called heme Sunday from visiting friends at Raleigh by the death of her sister, 'Mrs. Raymond Shelby.

Miss Kinkaid, of Richmond, visited Will Overman and family over the Fourth.

Logan Nelson and Heury Draper were at Cambridge City Tuesday. Asa Sample, of New Castle, was in town Saturday evening.

Mrs. Frank Weeks was at Spiceland Saturday to see her daughter, Mrs. Walter Sample. Mr. and Mrs. Sample are tLe proud parents of a new baby girl.

Mrs. Elsie Peters and children, of Indianapolis, visited T. E. Nttes and wife the first of the week.

Raymend Shultz and family, of Knightstown, Charles Wales and family and H. S. Wales and daughter, Sanie visited Mrs. Naomi Haywood and doughter, Inez Sunday.

John Roland has bought of Mr. Conoway his farm west of town, and also Dan Bohen's land adjoining it on the west.

Mrs. E. P. Thayer and daughter, Miss Roxana, and Mrs. H. B. Thayer have gone to Carp Lake, Mich., to spend the summer.

Mre. Jenny Pyles was called to the bedside of her daughter, Mrs. Nettie Shuitz, north of Greenfield, who is suffering intensely from consumption.

Herbert Atherton, of Vandalia, Owen county, is spending a few days with hia parents, Ed Atherton and wife.

Oscar Taylor arid wife, of Dunreith, spent Sunday with Louie Lafforge and wife and Ott Stant and wife.

The children of Albert Hudson south of here who have scarlet fever, Hazel is reported as being somewhat better, but the little boy has taken cold and is not near so well.

D. S. Scoffers and wife have returned to their home in Niles, Mich., after a few days' visit here with A. L. New and wife.
