MAPLE VALLEY.

Mrs. Hattie Fields, of Anderson, has been visiting relatives here since last Sunday evening. She was visiting S. W. Overman, Peter and John Fields.

Daniel H. Burris, who recently sold out here and moved on the Samuel Carlan farm west of here, died Sunday night and was burried Tuesday at Knightstown. He had lived about here most all of his life. He was a soldier and was in the army when the war closed. His funeral was largely attended by his relatives and friends, at his home. The funeral was preached by Rev. Pbillips, of the Shirley charge. The pall bearers were all old soldiers, Wm. Powers, Henry C. Garriott, Wm. Kenyon and Mr. Morris. of Wilkinson, John W. Reeves and Samuel W. Overman. Allen Overman, wife and daughter, Anna, and John Overman, of Indianapolis, were present at the funeral.

Barnie Reddington and wife, from near Mechanicburg, Jess Coon, wife and daughter, from Straughns, attended the funeral of Daniel W. Burris Tuesday.

James Kiser, who had his limb broken some time ago, is improving slow.

The weather keeps so cool most all the time that the corn doesn't grow to do much good. The wheat begins to look very discouraging to most of the farmers at present.

A. Kingery was at Indianapolis Monday. Edward Qlisson and wife, of Mt. Comfort, spent Sunday with Marshall Glisson and wife.

Millie Owen spent Sunday with relatives at this place. Several from Maxwell attended services at this place Sunday.

Catheryn Curry, of Greenfield, is visiting O. A. Collins and wife. Jessie Williams and wife spent Monday with John Williams and wife.

The families of Anthony Maroska and Edward Holden spent Sunday with Adam Wilson and wife,

Thomas Crossley and family, of McCordsville and Clarence Brooks, wife and son, Lester visited with the family of J. W. Deshong and family.

Mrs. Ada Frazier and children spent Wednesday with Mrs. Rose Maroska. Cecil Wilson, of Messiek, is spending the week with her grandparent?, A. V. Rumler and wife.

Lettie Bolander and Maud Riley visited with friends at Willow Branch Sunday.

Mrs. Anna JacksOn has returned home after spending several days with relatives near Fortville.

Frannie Colwell, of Eden, is spending the week with relatives here. Mrs. Nancy Prickett and children visited with Mrs. Hazel Maynard, near Maxwell, Tuesday.

Children's meeting is being planned for the near future.

H. C. Garriott and wife were at Richmond over Sunday visiting their son, O. N. Garriott and wife.

Charles Mogle and wife and J. Willard Mogle and lady friend, of New Castle, were over Sunday and spent the day with their father and mother, J. L. Mogle and wife.

J. W. Price was at Winona Lake Sunday to thd Dunkard meeting. Several from here aetended the Red Men's Memorial services at Warrington Sunday afternoon.

J. C. Woods' horse got scared at an automobile last Sunday and broke loose. He, in jumping out of his carriage-, got his lame leg hurt some, but was out next day. The rest oftiie occupants escaped getting hurt.

Daniel H. Burris died at his home, two miles south of town, Sunday night with a complication of diseases. He was about 63 years old. Funeral services at his residence Tuesday by Rev. John Phillips. Interment at Glencove cemetery at Knightstown. He was a soldier in the Rebellion.

J. Ward Walker and Wood Walker and family were through town in their auto Sunday evening. J. Ward is the same genial gentleman that he was thirty years ago when the writer first met him, only getting older. If he is not the representative from Hancock county it will not be his fault.

Allen Overman and daughter, and John Overman, of Indianapolis, were here in attendance at D. H. Burris funeral Tuesday.

J. C. Overman was the first postmaster for this office W. R. Kenwood, of Knightstown, was in town Tuesday

W. T. Hamilton went to Marion Tuesday for a few days with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Bigger, of Rensselaer, were here the guests of G. B. Rolling over Sunday.

A. B. Harlan shipped a load of stock to Indianapolis Monday. W illiam Kenyon is having s^me carpentering work done on his part

Sarah Dunn is real sick at this writing. John Morrison and wife who have been visiting their daughter, Mrs. E. Warren at McCordsville returned home Sunday.

Roy Sims and wife spent Sunday with Joe McDuffy and wife. Mrs. John Cooper, of Wilkinson is visiting her parnnts, John Morrison and wife at this place.

Verna Edwards spent a few days at Shirley last week with friends, George Dunn is improving the looks of his new house by making new cement walks. Campbell & Cly are doing the work for him.

James Eastes and wife visited friends in Brandywine township the first of last week.

Several from this place went to Otterbein to Children's meeting Sunday evening.

Everyone is'waiting patiently for the street cars to start to running. Walter Eakins, wife and daughter, Levina, of Greenfield, visited Jack and wife of this place last week.

Harry Bell and wife visited friends at Noblesyille last week. Mrs. Frank Eastes who has been real sick is reported better at this writing.

There will be preaching at this place by our pastor, Rev. Albright, of Pendleton, Sunday morning at 10: 30 a. m. and also Sunday evening at 7:30 p. m.. Everyone is invited to these services
