The I. O. O. F. held a basket picnic in the Lewis grove near town last Saturday. There was a laige attendance, good speeches and good music which made the occasiou pleasant and profitable.

The physicians report many-cases of sickness in andnear town. The Temperance society^ held their meeting latt Sunday evening at the M. E. Church. Rev. Augusta Albertson, of Jamestown, New York, made the address. Many spoke in high praise of her scholarly and entertaining address.

Dr. Hammou will give an..address on the physiological effects of alcohol on the human system, at the Christian Church next Sunday evening.

Mr. Ed. Sta.'ty has(opened a newr baiber shop iu the Parker, building.

There are,quite a nunsber of cases of meiisles in town. The last one to be attacked by this malady is. Miss Minnie Likin.

The Epworth League gave asocial ou the lawn last Saturday night. This was a success in every particular.

The friends of Rev. and Mrs. Albertson to the number of about two hundred, visited the parsonage one day last wt.ek and passed tbe day very pleasantly. Large tables were prepared in the shady yard iind a sumptuous dinuer spread, which was erjoyed by all. Some valuaable presents were presented to liev. and I Mrs. Albertson, among which were a flue bed spread, silverware and an elegant'lea gown for Mrs. Albertson. After dinner, speeches, instrumental and voc-.d tnusic etc. made the time one long to be remembered. The next meeting of the Methodist people in a reunion will be. at or near
