The nuptials were performed at Anderson by the lie v. John Huston Saturday last. pair to accept the correspondents benison ... .The temperance orator,Rev. Neal has closed his gospel temperance meetings here, the result of his work as predicted proved r» failure. Yet lie made a strong appeal for God and Home and Native land. The philosophy of his work however commends it to all sensible people who are in earnest in the interest the cause ot temperance. His teachings are that men should quit drink as an econonomic measure :n the liuancial interest of themselves, their families and community. Every man who drinks liquors should beco.:ie a prohibitory liquor law unto himselr and this can be done by signing ihe pledge and keeping it. If this be done it will render the saloon business unproiitable, a»id men having money invested will change their investment to some other onsiness If every true woman passed tu her final reward, that was the crowning victory that came to Luan Mauzy in the early morning of Sunday last, while she was not long confined to her bed, yet she had been a sufferer for along time, and the result was known to be inevitable, but she never murmured or complained and went to her death strong in the faith of one who has never doubled from the days of her childhood. The end came to her with her family and near relatives gathered about her, and she asked no more. The funeral occured on Tuesday at 10 a. m. at New Columbus the Kev. J. T. Reynolds officiating. There was a large attendance and many sincere mourners. Mrs. Luan Mauzy, wife of Silas Mauzy was 42 years old, sue was born in this county, the daughter of W/». and Catherine Gilmore, she has lived in Madi.son county all her life and for twenty-live years she and her husband weathered the storms of life together. They have had four children, two of whom aie dead, two daughters Kate and Fay are among the remaining. No one will preteno to assert that Mrs. Mauzy had an enemy on earth. She was one of Gods noblest of women, she goodness and kindness of heart in its strongest and hiphest type and many beneficiarees Ot her kindness will miss her kintily Jace and generous, hand for she loved every body. Her whole life was a record of brnve and kindly deeds and was constantly doing kind things that few people knew anything about and to whose eternal credit, let us hope tbat the recording Angel has many a favorable entry. Jacob Masters the jolly blacksmith, ordered the RKFI'I'LICAN for his brother, Sam]. Mas ters. at Thorntown. He is a wealthy retired farmer and has some leisure time I a part of which he will spend veiy profitably reading the REIHJUMCAN. Messrs
Masters & Son at Warrington, are liaving more business than they can manage at their shops.
Warrington is one of the most pleasI aut. communities I have ever visited. We have a legion of subscribers there whom I thiuk we can call our friends. I note with pleasure our growing list at that poiut, find thall continue to do all in my powor to shoWour appreciation of the pi tiny favors rtstow«l irom that part o| 'the "Moral Vineyard,"
