Miss Rose Randall, of Spiceland, is spending a lew days at her old home south-west of here....Our place was thrown into quite an excitement Saturday by the finding of a man's body in the edge of the viver about 2% miles below town. The body was partly covered with sand, destitute of clothing and past recognizing. A search was niado for the clothes which were found about a mile farther up the river and were identified as belonging to John Addison's grandson Mr. Springer of Indianapolis who had left Addison's on Wednesday to visit relatives at Arlington.

Last Sunday was spent, very pleasantly by most of us. We hai au interesting Sunday-school. Miss Leora Fort acting as secretary, she filled the position in a very creditable manner. There was children's meeting at several places atljaceut to this. I had the pleasure of attending one at Mt. Gilead north of this place. The exercises were grand, the house was filled and enough outside to have filled it again. The Warringtou choir sang some very choice selections. The little children as usual were the chief attractions and the way the people turn out to these meetings and the attention they pay to the exercises show plaiuly the growing interest of our people in the proper education of the young aud thi is a sure index of the future. The perpetuity of our Republican institutions in the future will devolve upon the children of to-day... Dr. Hammer aud wife who were visiting relatives at Indianapolis returned home Monday.... Mr. Gil lam aud wife of Rushville are visiting Dr. Hammer ....Park Thomas aud wife went on a visit to Oakland last Sunday. Mrs. Thomas remained there visiting relatives but he returned home to look after his growing trade.... A Blacksmith Savm the Life of Little Gill Minnie Carney, of Ly tie City, Iowa, was perhaps as near leaving this world as auy one can b», and r«cover. She was sick with chole: a morbus completely exhausted and uucoiiscious. The physicians in consultation decided the case was hopeless and beyond their contiol. Chas. J. Newcomb, a blacksmith, walked four miles through the darkness and storm, to get a remedy be had himself used, and which he firmly believed would cure her. l.at medicine was Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera aud Diarrhoea Remedy. He obtained part of a bottle, with which he hastily returned, and gave the little sufferer a half teaspoont'ul, which relieved her and consciouness gradually returned. The factory will have the faciities lor making all discriptious of plate glass, fruit jars, all kinds of bottles such as mineral, eider, ginger ale, beer, extracts, doctors perscription, pharmacy, aud other kiuds known to the trade, or for which there is a demand. The build ing will cover three acres of land and the material used will be brick and iron, the aggregate cost of the structure will be $12,000 and is to be ready for operation September 1st. Mr. Davis is a stranger to our people but he courts investigation through the commercial agencies of Bradstreet or Dunn & Co., and can furnish references from bankers aud mercantile firms iu Indiana aud Ohio as to honesty and business ability as well as practibility He will be here again on Tuesday of this week .when more definite conclusions will be reached, and it is expected that active operation will commeuce at ouce.
