HOUSE NOTES.

Theo IlelUns Hambktoiiian rnareioaled twiu colts last Monday. One of th^m died, however. She will be bred to Odessa.

Thomas Niles, of Cliariottesville, has a fine Pocahontas Boy colt out of his Haniblotonian Downing mare. It was 41 inches high when foaled, and has the breedifcg to make a race horse.

There are quite a number of colts in this county being reserved for stallions, that will simply make good geldings. The day for scrub stallions has past. The best are none too good, and it always pays to improve.

Dr. Manna, of Warrington, has reduced the service fee of Lincolnshire Tom I to 15 00 to insure a colt to stand and suck.

This horse is a prize winner, and the sire of some of the finest colts in the county, See Lincolnshire Tom.

Tt great runner, Tenny, as a yearling, sold lor $210 as a five year-old, he has gont lame, and will probably never again face a starter. His winnings, however, run away up into the thousands.

Dr- R. D. Hanna, of Warriugtou rtcog nizing that there was a large demand for a good jack in this county, has secured a very desirable one in Major W., a black Bpaiiish and Maltese jack. He is by a full blooded Black Spanish jnck,JohnK., imported by Everett & Young, of Kentucky, and his dam i8 the direct dependant of the great and celebrated mammoth Maltese jennet. This jack is a splendid specimen, being of good frize, fine color, with flue large bone and good, action. He is four years old, and hat? proved very
