On Saturday last the citizens of this vicinity met at the school-house, in district number four, for the purpose of organizing a company to sink a well. On motion of Mr. Ila Steele, Joseph P. Hull and Miss Nettie Nelson were united in marriage on last Sunday. We wish the young couple along and prosperous life ... .We are sorry to loose the citiz-nship of Mr. Joel Knight and family, who moved to New Castle, Tuesday... Mrs. Ora Davis is still sick... .Charles Blue has quit working on the section and returned to his home in Mt. Comfort Bud McCormack and George Phemister were at Greenfield, Friday... .Will Earles of Mt. The Aid Society of this place is doing well under the present officers: Mrs. Mollie E. Duncan, Pres. Mrs. Iduna Barrett, Sec.: Mrs. Linna Duncan, Treas Mrs. Alice Archey, Miss Lou Fry and Miss Belle Richey, Solicitors. There is quite a number belong to the Society and are still getting new members all the time. The ladies of this society gave an ice cream and oyster supper at this place last Wednesday eve January 14. It WHS quittf a success, having about seven gallons of ice nream and cakes and an abundance of oysters, which were soon disposed fit. Mr. Pauley the auctioneer was here to sell the album quilt. There were quite it number here mostly young people they did not tip: r-.ciate the quilt as older ones did, aud it did not bring as much as it ought, Mrs. II. II. Duncan was .the lucky purchaser. The proceeds taken in for the night amounted to over $iy.00. EverytliiLg went oil' smooth aud nice and all seemed to have a good time. This seems to speak well of the society, let all feel interested and more forward and make it a success, this all goes for the benefit of the church. This s' ciety meets the tirst Wednesday night of each mouth .The Sunday-school at this place Wc'ts re organized on last Sundayweek, and the new officers and teachers were elected L3ro. Evans intends commencing a protracted niceting here soou.
