The Bee Line Company are breaking joints all along the line, consequently there are four extra men doing work... .There were quite a number of people from here attended the show at Indianapolis, Monday. ...D. F. Blackburn's new residence is almost ready for occupancy The Fortville base ball club refuses to play Cicero. What was the matter boys? We suppose you want to quit while your credit is good. That is a good idea, but tear down your banner and don't issue, nor accept another challenge... .Mrs. E. West, who has lingered for months with consumption passed away Sunday night. She was a most estimable lady and a kind and devoted wife and mother. She was interred in the Fort cemetery, north of this place, on Monday The work of cleaning up the streets and renovating the alleys and public highways is progressing nicely, and the work being done by Marshal Whit-sell deserves some praise. We hope he may keep the work up At last we have our streets lighted with the grand gift from the bowels of the earth—Natural gas. Now for a few manufacturing establishments and we will have a town next to none. Boom her up Gualt, in the Sun, skins a hare and eats the fur in his last week's issue. The way in which he assails the town Board bespeaks for him trouble. If he is going to run the Sun and the corporation, why not publish a statemeut asking the members to resign and give him full sway andjthen we might have a graveyard, stockpen, bank, a new depot, a croquet park and the saloon license would be raised to $150, and the "etc" would become a stereotyped local in his paper Willie Humphries, a young man of about seventeen yeprs of dge and a boy of exceptionable qualities, came to town last Monday and purchased a drachm bottle of morphine of A. H. Thomas, of the firm of Brewster & Thomas. He was asked at the time of the purchase, if he knew how to dose it out, and he remarked that the family had taken so much of it that he was sure they did. He was cautioned by Mr. T. to be rery careful about it. No more was thought of it until Wednesday morning, when the report came that the young man had died from a dose of poison. The report was astounding to all and shocked the people beyond measure. No evidence of the boy's action could be obtained. The bottle could not be found and the whole matter seems to be wrapped in mystery. No investigation will be had and the motive of the poor fellow goes to the grave and there hides all. The cause will ever remain a profound mystery and only 6-od can answer his actions. He had been in town Tuesday, hail and hearty, comrades had talked with him and no room is open for the conjecture of his sudden demise.

The lighting of the street lamps has been resting on the citizens. A key has been given each person who resides by a lamp. Will it work!' We will wait and see.
