I have arranged to start deer hunting next Sunday afternoon (not the kind of deer hunting yon are thinking about) We will drive out to our cabin in Cal'f. and be ready to start hunting by daylight Monday. There will be three men and four women in the party. Will park the ladies at the cabin to do our cooking and OTHERWISE enjoy and entertain themselves by rambling over the mountains, etc. Hope to have some good pictures to send you. I suppose that by this time you, Harry Allan and Ott Webb have the old shot guns oiled up for a quail hunt. The anticipation is about all there is to a Putnam Co. quail hunt anyway so I guess it is good for such fellows as you to spend a month or so preparing. Your quail hunts are a good deal like fishing in a tub. There are two kinds of quail here, the mountain quail and Valley quail. No hob whites. Have been planted but do not thrive to amount to much. They seem not to be able to protect themselves from the natural enemies.
