Raskob of the Democratic National Committee receive the first bale of the new southern cotton crop at Smith- Robinson headquarters in New York. In accordance with custom the bale was auctioned for charity in Atlanta. Bought by a group of Smith backers it was specially compressed to fit in an airplane cockpit and flown to New York where Mayor James Walker will auction it at a performance of "Show Boat” for the benefit of the Domocratic campaign fund.
