FRENCH FLYERS ABANDON LONG FLIGHT TO AFRICA PARIS, Sept. 5.—Jean Assolant and Rene Lefevre have abandoned their flight to Dakar, Africa, and returned to Cahahlanca, Morocco, authorities at lx* Bourget field here were informed by wireless today. The two young fliers and their hack er Armand Lotti, stated early today from the Moroccan port where they were forced down yesterday. They had planned to refuel at Dakar and attempt a flight across the South Atlantic. Faulty lubrication ended today’s flight. The fliers said they would return to Paris and start a trans-Atlantic flight from there.

Inger soil, inventor of the dollar watch that bore his name, will be brought here from Denver, Colo., for burial, Mrs. John Lewis of Greenville, his niece, announced today. The C8-year-old manufacturer died yesterday in a Denver sanitarium. Mr. Ingersoll, who lived as a boy on a farm near Lansing, went to New York with $10 and engaged in novelty jewelry manufacturing, later liecoming a watch manufacturer.
