Mh Reed is a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, and Mrs Reed formerly Miss Lucille Riley, is an Alphi Chi Mr. Reed is the son of Rev. Fenwich Reed of this city Vic Cue of Cloverdale was in Greencastle Thursday on his way to his home from Indianapolis where he had accompanied his uncle, W O. Rqle, who was taken to the St. Vincent's hospital i n Indianapolis for an operation, Mr. Rule was suffering an abcess in his forehead The operation was reporter to be successful and Mr. Rule is getting along nicely. Jerry a fine Scotch Collie dog belonging to David, little son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Goldberg, was run over by a motor truck in front of the home on North Meridian street about noon today and instantly killed. —Brazil Times. Mrs. Bertha Gray of Thorntown is here to spend the Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Burkhalter M”s Gray is the sister of Mrs Burk halter.

INDIANA CATTLE FEEDERS MEET AT 1*1 RDl E DEC o • LAFAYETTE. Inch, Dec. 17.—The annual winter meeting of the Indiana Cattle Feeder’s Association will he held at Purdue University Saturday, Dec. 18, when 70 hea,| of two year old steers will be started on the annual winter feeding experiment. The steers have been purchased and are now on the Purdue faVm where they are being sorted p-eparatory to the starting of the experiment C C Fisher Union City president of the association, will open the meeting at 10 o’clock with a talk on the beef cattle situation, and F. G King, secretary treasurer of tho organization, will follow him with a discussion of the feeding experiment. Inspection of the cattle will follow, with lunch being served in the stock judging pavilion. John T Alexander and Kay Wood, Chicago, and J. S. Taylor, Indianapolis commission men, will be oh the 1 afternoon program, with M. H. Overton of Purdue who will discuss figures he has obtained the last two years on m.- t of production for beef cattle in central Indiana. Several hundred stockmen and farmers throu ghout the state are expected to attend the gathering. The ! standard Purdue ration of corn I silage, clover hay cottonseed meal I and shelled corn has come to he re- | carded ns the standard for feeders in Indiana a- well as the feeders in a j good portion of the eornbelt. This I ration is based on the experimental I results.
