What Every Woman’y Woman Wants
On<i of tho fondest desires of millions of women is to have beautiful- hair. This desire can be gratified without 'the slightest risk, for druggists everywhere, and the Owl Drug store and the Ited Cross Pharnmey sell a hair tonic called Parlskui Sage, that will turn dull lifeless unattractive hair into lustrous and attractive hair in two weeks, or money itack. Put the name on your shopping list . right now, and be sure and get the genuine. Every package has the girl with the Auburn hair upon It. Since its introduction in America, Parisian Sage has w'on untinted praise from women of refinement w'ho have learned what a delightiul and refreshing hair tonic and dressing Parisian Sage is. Just because the makers are absolutely certain that Parisian Sage is the only preparation that kills the pernicious dandruff microbes, they are willing to guarantee it to banisli dandruff, stop falling hair and itching scalp, or money back. A’ large bottle of Parisian Sage costs but r.O cents, at druggists everywhere and at the Owl Drug store and the Red Cross Pharmacy Mail orders filled, charges prepaid, by Giroux Mfg. Co., Buffalo, N. Y. Mrs F. J. Moreau, tt Oak St., Concord, N. H., wrote Nov. 1, ’09, “Parisian Sage has done wonders in my ease as a dandruff cure my scalp was in a bad condition. “Hair doesn't fall out as bad, the new is making its appearance fast. Am stilfl continuing its use” * VIA THU MONON ROUTE

Knew When Tie \> ns H'i;i|iy. The soul of an editor who had died of starvation was being conducted to the Elyslan fields. As they passed the portals of the infernal regions, he asked bis guide if he might not go In and look around. 1 be guide consented, but warned him to stay but a few minutes, as he could not wait long. A long time passed, and the editor bad not returned; so the guiding angel went in search of him. He found him before a cage in which a number of doomed wretches were being toasted on red-hot gri Idles. Over the cage was the sign ''Delinquent Subscribers.'' "Come,” said the guide; "we must be going.” “Don’t wait for me,” replied the editor. "I'm not coming. This Is Heaven enough for me!” Empty. J By ROGER BIRCH in aw ■»-■■■■ i im ' uih ■ i w.| "Robin,” said Sally, her face close to mine "Yes, Sally.” “Don't go; everything Is lonesome." "Robin Cowper has given the word of an honest gentlen an of the road to meet the coach ai It tonight.” Gently I put her from mo. She brushed away a tear, then, brighten-
ing:
“I’ll go, too.” "A petticoat to fight the king’s guards?” "Petticoat, no; coat and breeches,
yes.”
"Too dangerous, Sally. Walt till the coach goes unguarded ” "Robin, you have taught me the sword; you know my mettle. If you think me a coward, go and find a woman who Isn't.” "Pardon me, Sally! Come along! I'll get a horse. I borrowed a fine roan and we galloped, she side-saddle, to Forest Inn. The lads wore serious faces It was a bad Job, yet. If we won, we could quit the road for a year, so great was the stake. "Our newest member," 1 said introducing Sally. Giles laughed and welcomed her, but some sneered— until they caught my eye. Mine host, Harlow, found a cavalier's suit that fitted Sally so she looked like a hoy, hut no boy ever showed fair face that valored me for deeds of such daring "The best steel In the company, hoy,” sai l Giles, handing her a blade, as a dozen of us galloped Into Southcotnhe forest. The lads caught the name “hoy” and called her no other. Dud Hobart had been raised to command of the troops sent with the coach from Edencourt to guard the king’s gold. We would put a prank on him, so, at a spot buried deep In the gloom, we cut the trank of a tree till it was nearly ready to fall. We waited amid shadows. The riders came on. Our horses, well trained, moved not an ear. The troopers had just passed the weakened tree, when a couple of lads put shoulder against it and it fell era hing across the highway, cutting off troopers from coach. You ;rny believe there was scrambling Tho troopers wheeled, but their horses would not go through the thick branches. The noodles tumbled over each other out of the coach. When they looked Into a lozen black masks they made dismal noise It looked an easy job. 1 climbed Into the coach and rolled out k< s of gold. Now, it happened that some one (I can’t believe it was dullpate Dud) had put on rear guard, which came dashing up and set up my cullies Just when Dud's fellows, having dismounted, came to the rescue of the gold. Outnumbered two to one. my la s never had more furious fighting. Dud espied me and pumped for the coach door to cut me through as I bent to pass out. Bally, quickeyed for my safety, engaged him. Too agile for him, she pricked him and got away from every slash. It could not last long. He was too ponderous, her sword arm loo much a dainty woman’s. He saw me nearing, gave a savage lunge at Sally le ..lake her skip hack, then turned
upon me.
Now hnppcnd a woman's trick which I still laugh at. Bally's arm weary, she cast down weapon, and being behind Dud. next instant had both hands in his hair woman’s most natural way of fighting. Men biitvo to face death cannot endure I•••inff pulled bald. Sally Jerked sharply with one hand, then tin other, and every jerk made Dud wince. He hacked and she steered him toward the trees, where Kit and the roan stood. Gripping a keg under each arm, 1 followed, ready to use sword if Dud broke away. 1 signaled a lad to grip more kegs, then whistled them all Into the forest. Threv had be en out down. Half the king's men were on the ground. Once we woie among the trees, the traps were afraid to follow. "Let go Dud’s hair, boy," 1 said
to Sally.
"He's my prisoner.” "Where with I.im?” "To Forest inn.” “And then?” "Petticoats for him-” Sully and 1 es orted Dud hack to Edencourt. he strapped to Ins horse and Ills hands lied behind, lloldly we dashevl into town i.t full gallop, hitched liis horse to a post iu the public square and sped away, leaving townsmen and girls to make merry at ills plight. To this day Dud is hunting for the hoy that made him into a woman. Prepared for tin* Worn. "Good gracious, old man," exclalnied Ascura, “v. hat sort of a suit
Is that?’'
"This,' replied Dingley, who was attired in a eumhiiiutinn of football gold and riding clothes, "is what you might call a suit for damages. I'm going up to ask old Roxley for his daughter."
