up-to-date attraction. While ecn*aining most of the old circus acts, newer novelties were featured and the auditors were given some mighty pleasing exhibitions from many of the best artists in the profession. The . lo*»ns were many and very amusing and not the least pleaing part of the performance wav their work. It did not savor of the slap-stick variety of fun but many of tireir arts were decided! • lev er. The propr.etors were well pleated with their business here an 1 will not forget Greencastle In th’future. I^rze audiences were present both afternoon and evening. Had not the hay and wheat harvest been pressing the farmers it would have been much larger.

Wbat might have been a serious accident Thursday afternoon at th*- Robinson circus was averted only by the fact that th*- tent was not full. During the riding act in which the Uossark swings head downward by the side of his horse j the animal J limited the net stretch- | ed round the race course, passed I Inside the tent poles set well within the seat area, again leaped | the net and rushed on down the [ course. Had that section of the ; tent been filled with seats persons ' In the audience could not have ! escaped injury. As it was the i rider narrowly escaped being dashed against the tent pole in the

Rev. Fenwick Reed, of Green castle, who held a phenomenal revival meeting in Spencer some two 1 or three years ago, is now engag-1 ed In the same line of work here) again, all the local churches of the town assisting In the work, as before The first meeting of the series was held in the tent, which has been set up at the foot of the hill between Main street and Washington street, Sunday evening at 7:30 at which time the tent was filled with a large audience of Spencer people and people from the adjoining country. The singing is under the direction of Prof. Grant, of Evansville, who has a magnificent voice, and as he leads the chorus of a half hundred or more voices, one unconsciously finds himself joining lustily In the song service which preceds the sermons or the heart to heart talks of Evangelist Reed. These meetings, as we aie informed will only he held of ->venIngs, and as hut three services have been held, ahd two of these under ad'oise conditions, it. 1b difficult to determine just, how the outcome will he, but It Is a safe prediction that Rev. Reed will ilo his part well, and is assisted as he shotildn be by the local churches, great good will result in the up- I lift of the morals In Spencer.— Owen County Democrat.
