The Woiim ii'n League. The Woman’s League of the Col lege Avenue Church held its monthly meeting Wednesday afternoon in the clt a pel of the church. Mrs. J. P. Allen, Sr., the president, presided and Mrs. J. G. Dunbar acted as secretary. Devotional exercises were conducted by Mrs. Ayres. After a brief bust ness session the program of the afternoon was carried out. The general subject was, "The Church, Its Measure of Success.” Mrs. Gobin spokt on, “The Church's Relation to the Poor.” Site made many practical suggestions which will result, il is hoped, in a forward movement along the lines suggested. Mrs. Peck presented the paper upon The Church’s Relation to Education” and gave most interesting historic sketch showing the vital relation between the church and education from early times until now’. After the program the social session was held during which refreshments were served by the committee consisting of Mrs. Alice Thomas, Mrs. I'yke, Mrs. Stevene, Mrs. Landes. .Mrs. Marshall assisted by other There was present a large company who greatly enjoyed

HIGERT-HELM WEDDING
A beautiful home wedding was solemnized last night at the home of Mrs. Augusta Higert. the contracting parties being Mrs. Higert’s daughter, Miss Alma Therese Higert, and Mr. Carl Franklin Helm of Indianapolis. Dr. H. A. Gobin, officiated, using the full ring ceremony. The rooms were beautifully decorated In palms, smilax and cut flowers carrying out a color scheme of pink, green and
white.
In the door-ways and arch between the parlor and music room, were hung wedding bells of pink and white, draped with festoons of sinilax. The mantels were banked with pink and green carried out in foliage and pink chrysanthemums. At 7:30 the wedding march was played by Mrs. Harry Helm and the bride and groom unattended came to their places before an altar of potted ferns, palms and chrysanthen unis and here the ceremony which made them one was pronounc' d. Refreshments were served in the dining room which was beautifully decorated, and lighted by green shaded candles. On the table was a beautiful French basket of pink roses and violets.. The bride wore a beautiful gown of hand-made lace battenberg over white satin in Directoire style. The golng-away dress was a toupe-colored tailored suit, with hat to match. Following the ceremony Mr. and Mr Helm left over the interurban for Indianapolis where their handsome new' home is already furnished at 1C10 East Vermont Street. The wedding was essentially ,i home one and no invitations were i ued. the only guests present being relative'.
