Whlteneck is District Superintendent of the Anti-Saloon l.eagu and will endeavor to set before the students on Monday evening the put poses and aims of tills society. Witn the increasing interest caused by the campaign issues which are being p it before the public by the various political parties, Rev. Whitenech claims that none has received s.i much attention as the fate of the saloon in the United States. In speak ing of the address which he woul 1 make to the students on Monday evening he explained the different' between the Prohibition party an! the Anti-Saloon League Some con fusion lias arisen at times in regar i to the fact that these organizations have nothing in common and are in no way connected. In speaking of the local political situation Rev. Whiteneck claimed that the local option bill would bo carried by over a thousand votes *n this county. Many DePauw students are taking an active part in the present political campaign as the various political clubs will testify.

of the bar could lie brought before the club to address Its members and thus add to its popularity. Although nothing was done deffnitely in regard to this matter it is thought that ways and means will he provided whereby the dull may accomplish
its aims.
Another matter which received much informal discussion was the desire upon a part of the members to petition for a chapter from some law fraternity. That there would be little difficulty in obtaining one seemed to be the opinion of all con-
cerned.
In regard to the eligibility of students wishing to become members of the club it was suggested that only those who bad determined to make law their life vocation would be admitted into the organization. That this was not the case with several of the utudents was also brought to the attention of the executive hoard but
no action was taken.
