PAIN
IWn In the head—pain anywhere, has its cause, ^fclniscongestion, pain is blood pressure—nothing usually. At least, so says Dr. Shoop, and to ytore it he has created a little pink tablet. That tablet—called Dr. Shoop's Headache Tablet— 4HZ6S blood pressure away from pain centers. "Hi effect is charming, pleasingly delightful. Gently, fhooffh safely, it surely equalizes the blood circuttttfon.
T? you have aheadachc, its blood pressure. If it's painful periods with women, |amo cause. If you are sleepless, restless, nervous, it's blood ''Congestion—blood pressure. That surely is a r^itainty, for Dr. Shoop's Headache Tablets stop
Ik In 20 minutes, and the tablets simply distribute Mm unnatural blood pressure. Bruise your finger, and doesn't it get red, and *well, and pain you? Of course it does. It's conffestion. blood pressure. You'll find it where pain always. It's simply Common Sense.

Entered as second-class matter August 1. AM, at the postofflce nt Greenfield, Indiana, Under an act of Congress. March 3.1879.
The nearer the election approaches the greater the uncertainty of results appear. The man who can anticipate what is about to happen in the V* political elections of the country
has remarkable insight into the future. There is now more independent voting" than ever before. It will not be confined to local matters, but will be practical in State and con-
k. gressional. The voters have taken the bit in their teeth, so to speak, and party leaders and .' their party appeals and promises, do not seem to have the ,«• effect and influence that they once had. [n fact, there is some -r evidence that the stronger they "are appealed to, the more determined they seem to be to do as they please. This is not a cony' dition that only one party has to
deal with, but both the old parties are confronted with it. It may be local to the Republi-
7 cans of Henry county and the Democrats of Hancock, but it is a perplexing question in almost every State and congressional •I election throughout the country, f: The results are more uncertain than ever before. There will "•t be many surprises.
Election officers without regard to party should be fair. Eyery ontizen no matter how he desires to vote should be permitted to vote unless he has forfeited that right. Every ballot should be counted unless there is evidence of fraud, or the voter has clearly forfeited the right to have it counted by his ignorance in marking it. Let no election officer seek to throw out a balk)t simply because it is of the opposite party.
Election day is the time for the people—the voters—to do their unprejudiced duty. If they intelligently exercise their rights at thp polls, they will seldom haye cause to complain of the officers selected to public positions. The real ground for complaint of officials originates with the neglect of the voters at the polls. If voters could 'l^get away from party prejudice, would be better satisfied
There is no "honest election" contract in Hancock county but there should be. Therewill bow ever be less corruption than usual for the simple reason that the bo'odlers will have access to less money. The candidate who does not stand for honest election is more foolish than the boodler. Honest elections means the saving of money to the candidate but it means a loss to the boodlers. Every citizen and candidate who is ap-. posed to graft and bribery, should stand for an honest elec tion. We endorse the efforts of Democrats everywhere as well as Republicans who have entered the movement in favor of honest elections.
The man who can anticipate the results of the strange campaign just closing has great insight. The independence is the great cause of uncertainty. It is every where, even in Hancock county. The voters have the bit in their teeth, so to speak, and all the appeals and promises of the bosses have lost former force. In fact there is evidence, that the stronger the appeal is pressed the more determined the independent voter becomes. The threat and party whip have lost influence. It is same in all parties. The surprises will be many.
If you want to vote ax mixed ticket and are not sure that you know how to do it, ascertain from some honest unbiased person. Don't presume that you know how to vote unless you do Don't be so biggoted that you will make a mistake and lose your vote rather than expose your ignorance in the matter, Everybody will have to learn how to vote on machines in a few years.
There is no excuse for an intelligent man not knowing how to vote any kind of a ticket he may desire to vote. If he does not know, let him take a sample ballot and ascertain how to vote. Ignorance in the matter is inexcusable.
No matter how the electon goes this fall there will not probably be the wild, blind party exultancy over success that has characterized the past. People are not as foolish in those things as they once were.
Congressman James E. "Watson of this district has been one of the busiest men in the whole country this campaign. He has been in demand in all the close districts of the different states, and has campaigned his own district very little.
Many men are much interested at this time in the laws relating to elections. Every man who is on an election board has a copy of the election laws and is reading up his duties as provided by law.
These are political times when all voters of all parties should vote*
