TYPHOID FEVER. We notice with regret the several reports of persons who are sick, with symptoms of typhoid fever. The cit}^ of Greentield has been remarkably free from that terrible disease for many years. The cases of typhoid fever in this city since the construction of our most excellent water system have been very rare.

The Board of Health, if it has not already done so, should make a thorough investigation of all cases with typhoid symp toms, so as to get at and destroy the source of the disease soon as possible.

This paper has repeatedly complained of persons who kill rats and throw them in the streets and alleys. Street cleaner Ben Porter has given public notice that he will prosecute the tirst person whom he catches throwing dead rats in the street. It is a violation of law to throw such trash in the streets, and the persons who persist in doing so should be prosecuted. If the officers whose duty it is to do so would make an example of a few of such violators, there would be less of such work done. South Mount street between Main streefc and Whiskey alley is scarcely passable on account of the stench from dead rats. Parts of Whiskey alley is about as bad from the same cause. Let the officers make an example of the offenders.

A Serious Matter

It becomes a very serious tiling when a man has a wife and children to support and a home to maintain, and finds he is in no condition to do it. It becomes more serious when he can obtain no relief. All the hopes of the future are blasted nothing to look forward to discouragement and despair faces him at every turn. What must be the thoughts of a man realizing that this condition was brought on through carelessness and ncglect? How much worse must it be to a man thus afflicted to know that his wife and life partner is in a similar condition.

Mr. Lathrop, 1418 N. Sixth Street, Terre Haute, Ind., and his wife suffered for years. Mr. Lathrop was afflicted with rheumatism, was entirely run down and broken in health, and could not work. Mrs. Lathrop suffered with eczema and blood trouble, and both have been entirely cured by the use of Quaker Herb Extract, the wonderful time-tried specific for stomach, liver and kidney complaints. This preparation is purely vegetable, contains no injurious drugs or poisons, and is made from a combination of herbs, roots, barks, berries, leaves and blossoms.

Quaker Herb Extract is for sale by your local druggist, or is sent on receipt of price, $1.00. ©uaker Herb Co., Cincinnati, O.

The readers of this paper will be pleased to learn that there is at least one dreaded desease that science has been able to cure in all its stages, and that is Catarrh. Hall's Catarrh Cure is the only positive cure now known to the medical fraternity Catarrh being a constitutional desear?e, requires a constitutional treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure is taken internally, acting directly upon the blood and mucous surfaces of the system, thereby destroying the foundation of the desease, and giving the patient strenth by building up the constitution and assisting nature in doing its work. The proprietors have so much faith in its curative powers that they offer One Hundred Dollars for any case that it fails to cure. Send for list of testimonials.

Rheumatism is not incurable. Stubborn? Yes! But Dr. Shoop's Rheumatic Remedy will

fully used drive it out of the system. It's the blood that's at fault. Poisonous crystals like sand get into the joints and muscles. Dr. Shoop's Rheumatic Remedy prevents this. It drives Rheumatism from the bloodv and then Rheumatism dies. We recommend it and sell it. AUJdruggists.
