That publicsentimentis growing- against the use of tobacco is manifest in many ways. Not only are restrictive laws being enacted in many places, but public sentiment is growing against spitting on the sidewalks, in stairways, cars and buildings. When one reflects what the spitting" practice was only a few years ago, they are able to see great advancement along that line. The feeling ag-ainst children using" tobacco is also rapidly growing". Almost any respectable person now looks with regret upon the child with tobacco or a cigar in its mouth. A few years ago such a thing was not very seriously considered by the general public. Tobacco has many strong influences arrayed against it which declare that it is bound to go.
In his "Confessions of a Drone Jos. Meddill Patterson, the millionaire socialist, laments be cause the wealth produced by workingmen has by some hocus been transferred to me. Why not transfer it back, instead of gabbling about it?

Cuba is becoming more Americanized than was at first thought. Some of the leading" insurgents against the President of that Republic, are members of Congress.
In Pennsylvania seventy people, the other day, celebrated the thirtieth birthday of ahorse. At any rate, that is an improvement on the Newport dog and monkey society events.
Russia would like to trade off its peasant population for the old-fashioned type of farmer who spends his time in the country store talking" thing's over.

Zt Question
There is always a question in the mind of a person as to whether or not they can be benefitted by the use of medicines. The question is never answered until the medicine has been tried. The average man or woman knows when they are sick. The symptoms show themselves as plain as writing. You feel run down, tired, lose all energy and ambition, don't want to "work, don't want to move, don't enjoy eating, and you know there is something wrong with you, then you ask yourself if you can be benefitted bv the use of any preparation, and just so long as you are wondering, just so long will you be sick. The Creator intended mankind to do things, to work, that they may help themselves and others, and when you get into the state that you will not help yourself, you can depend upon_.it. your system is out of order.
A few doses of Quaker Hefb Extract will make you feel entirely different. It is a preparation that acts directly on the most vital organs of the body, and puts energy, ambition and new life into the system, thoroughly cleanses the body of all impurities and disease germs, makes you feel that you have taken an entirely new grasp on the responsibilities of life, and enables you to perform those duties which you know and feel you should do.
Quaker Iierb Extract is for sale by your local druggist, or is sent on receipt of price, $i.oo. Quaker Herb Co., Cincinnati, O.
