One of the best trained animal acts before the public is the exhibition given by Alfred Carlisle's dogs and ponies, a wonderful^company of four footed performers. Mr. Carlisle has reached the very limit of animal training, as he has taught his pets to accomplish feats never before performed by other animals. ^,The popular comedians, Smith and Campbell, will ap pear in their latest assortment of jokes' and parodies, and another amusing number of the program will be the farcical musical act of that clever team, Fred Eckhoff and Anna Gordon. Lynn, Fay and Young will appear in aspectaoular singing and dancing production. Other entertainers of enviable reputation will be the pretty comedienne, Jane Courtrope, who, with her supporting players, will present the farce, "Fisherman's Luck," Belle Gordon, "the American Girl," and Kathrine Nugent, formerly of "The County Chairman" Company. The bioscope will round out this splendid program with a new
series of interesting and ing motion pictures.

O, BE KIND!
O, be kind! O, be kind! Love is dull and life is blind Only death is opened-eyed. O, how bitter by the side Of an open grave to say, "Give me back my yesterday!"
O, be kind! O, be kind! Touch the harp and you may tind That your fingers, rude, unskilled, Have the soul of music killed. Hearts are harps—O, gently sweep All their sweet strings lest you weep.
O, be kind! O, be kind! Soon the tangle will unwind We are all so near to go Through the grassy door, and low Speak them soft and tenderly, These who fare that road with thee.

GRAND OPERA HOUSE.
As usual, the Grand will have a very strong vaudeville bill with which to please the State I-^air visitors. Heading the program will be two stars from the musical comedy stage—Mabel Barrison and Joseph E. Howard. Both of these popular entertainers have been appearing in comic operas and bright extravaganzas during the last five seasons, and their appearance as vaudeville headliners will be of unusual interest to amuse-ment-seekers. Miss Barrison is a beautiful and accomplished young woman, who has won her way to the hearts of all lovers of music^and dance, and Joseph E. Howard is a versatile comedian, whojspends half his time entertaining audiences and the rest in writing musical comedies.

The Hesperian Club.
The Hesperian Club opened its year's work Saturday afternoon by observing Reciprocity Day. The meeting was in the nature of a picnic, as it was held at Oakland on the beautiful lawn of the home oi Mrs. Alonzo Tyner. Mrs. J. N. Barrett and Mrs. J. V. Martin entertained the Club with excellent papers. The Club will devote the remainder of the year's work .to the study of the Bible, beginning with "The Foreshadowing of the Christ,1' one of the outline study courses of the Ameri can Institute of Sacred Literature, prepared by Wm. Rainey Harper.
Mrs. Tyner, assisted by her daughters, Misses Bertha and Miriam, served dainty refreshments garnished with beautiful balsam blossoms in the club colors of red, white and blue. One of the members reported that while on a recent tour of the west she was granted the pleasure of naming a large cattle ranch of 2,000 acres three miles from the Colorado line and that hereafter it will be known as the Hesperian (Western Star) Ranch, named after the Greenfield Club.
A friend of Mrs. lone Black received a letter from her a few days ago. She and her children spent the summer very pleasantly in a small town on the shores of the Mediterranean, near the-1 border line between France ancj Spain. They are now at Paris where they will spend the winter. Mrs. Black is the widow of the late Col. R. A. Black of this city. She has been in Europe for several years educating her children.
The usual big house is expected at the contest in the opera^house^Thursday evening.

HOSPITAL PHYSICIANS SAID
'IT WOULD DELIGHT US TO FIND SOMETHING TO CUBE THIS DEAR OLD SUFFERER."
MR. E. W. HOSE, St. Louis, Mo. RICHMOXD, IND., NOV. 20,1905. DEAK StR: The charity patient in whom I am so much interested was seventy-tlve jc-ars old at the time that she be«an the use if "Zemo," and herwe.tM. w.is I,U lbs. Her health has been poor for some time past, sunerinjj mainiy from spinal trouble, according to the diagnosis of the doctors in attendance. Slie has been a hard worker all her life, having made the living for her family keeping boarders, somewhat over a year 'i^o eczema began to trouble her. It gradually grew worse and worse until her entire body was affected, the legs beiiig a mass of sores constantly separating. The itching and burning sensation was so dreadful at times that it was impossible for her to sleep day or night. The doctors (two of our best) pronounced the case incurable, and when I nsked permission to use "Zeino"' promptly said, "it would delight ns to and something to cure thisdear old bufferer.' Zemo 'was first used on
upper part of the body and soon relieved the patient of the terrible diatress caused by the itching and burning.
