Hick's September hand out in the way of weather is a series of many courses. Swallow it and keep your face straight:

A regular storm period is central on September 1st, extending up to the 4th. The month promises to come in with areas of high temperature,low barometer, .and storms making their transit from west to east. The climax, or culmination of this period will fall on and t(Juching the 2d, the date of the full moon. If high barometer and westerly gales follow these storms, look for change to much cooler with frosts possible in the north. But the moon does not pass the celestial equator, coming north, until the 6th, strongly indicating that high temperature and threatening electrical storms may^not subside entirely at the end of ^the first period. The 1st to the 4th is also a probable seismic period. reactionary storm period is central on the 7th and 8th, and this fact, most probably, will cause storms which originate on the 6th, to continue ®ver the 7th and 8th. If high barometer follows close behind any of the early September storm areas, fro.st will be almost a certainty in northern sections. Otherwise very high temperatures will prevail generally until we pass the center

autumnal equinox. A regular storm period is central on the 12th and covers the 10th to the 15th. This period is co-incident with the September magnetic crises, which earth passes annually from September 9th to the 15th. This as we have often explained is because the eartlrs magnetic poles are inclined to the equator. Look for high temperature, low barometer, threatening storm clouds and severe electrical phenomena centering progressively on the 11th to the 14th. Here again it is problematical whether a higher barometer from die northwest and a change to much cooler will follow these storms —probemaltical, because the new noon on the celestial equator is just ahead on the 18th.

A reationary storm period is central on the 17th, 18th and 19th. This period will carry the earth to the center of its autumnal equinox. It will also inaugurate a series of storms and changes, on land and sea, that will prove clear lines of demarkation between our summer and autumn.

A regular storm period runs from the 22d to 26th. From Sunday, the 28d, to Wednesday, the 26, is a time of maximum storm probability. Look for the commingling of tropical and boreal conditions bringing rain, wind and thunder in some parts, with possible sleet and early spurts of snow in the far north. A reactionarj^iisturbance is central on the 29th and 30th, causing low barometer and general change to storm conditions September goes out.

The "Peek-a-boo" is the Very Latest Fad.

The "peek-a boo" is the latest. It is an insect, not a fad. The young women have given the bug its name because it delights to feed on the many cases of pink flesh that dot the deserts of peek a-boo waists and open work stockings. The bug is as voracious as ill-mannered. It has already interrupted several proposals of marriage. Just when the lovely yonng woman was about to murmer "Yes" she shrieked "Ouch!" and tried to grab her shoulder blade of her ankle bone.

Amid Old Scenes.

Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hul'ford returned from a two or three days' visit in old Rush county. While there they took a drive through that portion of the county in which they both spent their childhood days. They visited the old family cemetery where the parents of Mr. Huf ford's father and mother were buried. They were the guests at dinner with the family of J. C. King. Mr. King is one of the wealthy and most progressive farmers in that progressive county. Mr. King was former1}' an employer of Mr. Hufford and the latter sat and convers ed pleasantly with him of olden times, under a spreading beech tree which Mr. Hufford used to lounge iu comfort at the noon hour. Mr. King has every thing about his farm" in up-to-date shape. His great stock barn is a marvel in completeness.
