W. C. Goble is again having serious trouble with his hands and for that reason he is unable to write and his column on the Sunday school is omitted today. He is having a serious time from something similar to eczema of the hands.

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Keltner and baby, of Anderson, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Barnett of Mechanic street. Mrs. Keltner is the daughter of Mr. Barnett.

The Eden Band has returned from Aurora, 111., where it fur-' nished music for a big picnic and fire drills. The band has twenty-six pieces and is led by S. H.'Trueblood.

John Walker, chairman of the Republican County Committee at Shelbyvilie was in Greenfield Friday looking after some real estate and calling upon Postmaster Walter G. Bridges.

The Christian and Methodist Sunday schools of Fortville, will hold a union meeting tomorrow. Choirs from both churches will furnish music. Preaching services will be morning and afternoon.

Warren Myers, of the south part of the city, while out hunting a few days ago on the farm of Jacob Catt, east of this city, shot a squirrel which ran into a hole in the tree after, it was wounded. He climbed up the tree and attempted to punch the squirrel out when he stirred up a swarm of bees causing him to 5 make a hasty retreat&fc

The Greenfield Military orchestra had arranged to give a concert last night on the court house lawn but some of the members who live in the country were unable to come to town.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Henry Smith and baby returned from Hamilton, Ohio, Friday evening. Mrs. Smith and the baby had been visiting friends there for several days and Mr. Smith went over to accompany them home.

A1 Thomas, the contractor, is at McCordsville this afternoon, says the Anderson Herald, figuring on anew block to take the place of the two story Masonic Temple and business block that burned there a week or ten days ago. The new building will be a fine one, and Mr. Thomas hopes to land the contract.

Harry and Sherman Rothermel, of Green towhship, went to Wayne county this morning to attend a reunion of the old pupils and students of Pennville school, three miles east of Cambridge City. Next Saturday, August 11th, they will attend the RothermeL family reunion at Glen Miller Park in Wayne County.,

Miss Nellie Doughy, of An derson, who was the guest of Mrs. Robert Fair, Mrs. William Marts and other friends, went to Glenwood yesterday to be with relatives for week or more. On her way home she will stop in Greenfield.

The Union Traction Company and William Pettigrew came to an agreement Wednesday concerning the 36 hogs that were killed b}' a traction car at Ingalls recently. The Company paid the sum of $472 80 for the animals.

While the sheriff of Henry county was at the Jefferson ville reformatory last week, he was informed by the attaches of that institution that Haley Gipe is a model prisoner and conducts himself in manner far different than when he first entered the institution. His incarceration has changed him wonderfully and now he obeys all the orders of the prison officials.

Rev. Edgar H. Stranaban will fill the pulpit at the Friends' church tomorrow. Preaching at 10:30 a. m. and again in the evening. The evening sermon will be illustrated.

Owing to the condition of the M. P. church, the seats having all been removed to place the new carpet, no services will be held in the auditorium tomorrow. A class meeting will be conducted at the morning hour in the basement of the church and in the evening the pastor's subject will be "How to Increase the Pastor's Usefulness in Future."
