Mrs. B. W. Cline and son Oakley, and Mrs. Joshua Cline who have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. New, returned to their home at Utica, Ohio, today. Miss Margaret Cline re mained for a longer visit.

George Gant and wife, Mrs. Wm. Lewis, Ransom Denny and wife, Mr. and Mrs. George Dieter Miss Grace Woodall, and Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Archey left this morning at 5 o'clock to visit the boj^s who are camping on Fall Creek near Fortville.

Drury Holt, of Carthage, who was hurt in a railroad accident at Springfield, Mo., last week while returning. home trom Oklahoma with his wife and son, John Holt, did not reach Carthage until Tuesday evening being delayed by his injuries, Mrs. Holt and son arrived home Saturday. John has been much better since that time. He is preparing to live in a tent on the Benton Henley farm south of Carthage in the hopes of being benefited by the open air treatment. He has tuberculosis of the throat.

Wesley Banta arrived at his home iu this city yesterday. He was released a few days ago from the refo..natory at JeffersonvHle he had been an inmate sii, Jan 12th, 1904. He is 19 years old ana was sent to prison on a of guilty to assault and v^ery and attempt to kill Raymond Hutton, a*T- lad of similar age. The crime was committed Saturday morning about 2 o'clock December 19, 1903. The boys had been quarreling while at work and Banta in the heat of passion dealt the Hutton lad a blow on the head with au iron pipe. For a time it was thought the boy would not live but his skull was trephined and he recovered.

A great many Greenfield people have visited the Indianapo lis parks and places for outdoor summer entertainments and amusements and they are almost unanimous in proclaiming Wonderland by far the best of them all.

Charley Vaughn towed Horace Boyd's automobile from Irvington yesterday. Mr. Boyd and a party of friends were returning from McCordsville through Indianapolis and met with an accident at Central Avenue, Irvington. The machine was seriously damaged.

The members of the Tri Kappa society enjoyed acorn roastsupper and dancing at Spring Lake Park last night. The party was made up of Misses Bessie Kinsley, Stella Thompson, Marie Pilkenton, Mary Sample, Bertha Orr, Lena Walker, Mary Montgomery, Jessie and Nellie Baldwin, Messrs. John Rhue, Sam Offutt, John Early, Thomas Cleary. Von Glascock, Ed Quigley, George and Theodore Caldwell and Dr. Frank Selman.

Arthur Dufty was in the city today the guest of Henry Gates and daughter Vania. He is superintendent of buildings at Purdue University and has over seen the erection of the five new buildings there neither of which cost less than $40,000. Mr Dufty is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Dufty of Troy, N. Y., who are intimate friends of Miss Gates and with whom she recently made an exceedingly en joyable two months1 visit.

The Krammes family reunion will be held at the larm of George Krammes four miles west of Rushville, Wednesday, Aug. 8th. There are several members of the Krammes fam ily in Hancock county.

Mrs. Hargrove was seen in our town looking at some houses which are for sale. She thinks Carrollton all right too.

Mabel, the little daughter of Tom Amos, died July 29. Funeral preached by Rev. Martin at the residence July 31.
