Yesterday Frank Rockey, loaded to the brim with bad whiskey, and was soon so drunk he could hardly walk. He wandered around until he came to the corner of North and Spring streets where he took a header into the gutter, and was unable to regain his feet. He lay there until found by the City Marshal, who loaded him into the patrol wagon (a wheel barrow) and took him to jail to spend the night and sober up. Miss Ku ipp's performance in which the could at wi 1 increase her own weight, al^o the weight of other persons and objects wiili which she came in coucact, was surprising to the audience. Her mind reading wa« wonderful, the convi ced uie most skeptical, even Dr. Black had to acfenowie lge that she was able to locate hidden articles, also to read the thoughts of persons with whom she cime in contact. The specialties of Nicolai S Sate the female impersonator were go^d as was the cabinet manifestations of B. Frankton Willard aud Mr. Slate. This company will give auother entertainment tonight iu which spiritulisrn will be exposed and should be well patroniz-das Greeufield seldom gets as talented a Uompany as this one.

A Remarkable Man He Always Pays Cash.

Bloomington has no more careful business man than Tjbe Batterton, and in that respect he has a remarkable rec-rd. His name has never been on a store book in this city as a debtor for goods he has never owed money but ouce since 1851, and that was a few dollars for ten days he always pays for all his reading matter in advance, and by reason of .he unfortunate experience of his ither, ha never given bis name as security for any one.— Bloomington Telephone. 1'his county would be in better shape financially if there were more men who would follow the example of Mr. Batterton. We especially commend that part of his business practice to always pay for his reading matter strictly in advance. Let all the REPUBLICAN'S readers who are not paid in ad ?auce please make a noce of such fact and then call in the first time you are in the city or remit by mail.

The Red Men's Crlti cs Catching It Again,

The radical way in which the correspondent from this place to the Greenfield Herald, attacking the organization of the ]. O. K. M. shows the lack of good sound judgment, and it seeibs they hsve well learned the art of prevarication. If we are not mistaken the people who wrote the stuff had better rectify this matter or else something will be published that might hurt their past life, We know who the two "sisters" are and know what we are talking about.—New Palestine Courier.
