A Woman's Death Recalls an Impressive Ceremony.

CHANGE OF RELIGIOUS BELIEF.

The Kite of liaptism Atlministered in the Shadow of Death -31 urder ollows a Petty Quarrel—An Olil Project ltevivel.

A New County. Proposed -Other Indiana State News. DEL'HI, Ind., Aug. 2b.—The death of Mrs. Vincent Johnson of Burlington township, this connrv. recalls an impressive ceremony that was witnessed by several hundred people several weeks ago. Mrs. Johnson had been sick with coiisamptioiitorsever.il month* Her parents were members of the Dnnkard church, but several years ago Mrs. Johnson united herself with the Methodist church.

After she was fold that she could not recover her mind dwelt c.infiniiously upon reiiyious matters, and a longing to unite herself with the church of her parents took possession of her. This iact was communicated to the Dnnkard brethren in cue vicinity in winch she lived, and the woman, who was at that tune in the ist stages of consumption, was informed that she could not unite with the church without baptism by immersion. With a smile, she replied that that was what she desired.

Accordingly several Sabbaths jigo the poor, emaciated woman was lifted from her couch, placed on a ihair, carried to the waters of the Wild Cat, and 111 the presence of her neighbors and friends the rite of baptism by immersion was administered. It is? said that when the good woman was carried from the water her features were radiant and she whispered to those about her that she was now ready to die. None who witnessed the ceremony will ever have it erased from their memory.
