The ftlicllty «.:M nty Animal jI« (li al Meeting—Our Doctors Invited. The Shelby County Medical Socity will hold its Seventh Annual Meeting in the Christian church, Shelby vile, Ind., April 8, lS!)o. Papers of great importance will be read and discusse by Drs. Couriers, Hall and Ricketts, of Cincinnati, Drs. Mathews, McMurtry and Reynolds, of Louisville, Drs. Love aud Bernays, of St. Louis, Dr. Drake, of Sh^lbyville, Dr. W. W. Keen, of Philadelphia, Dr. R. Harvey Reed, Columbus, O., Drs. Dunning, Taylor aud Cline, of Indianapolis, aud others. These meu have all promised and are expected to be present. This promises to be one of the most interesting gatherings of the medical profession ever held in the St ite. The visiting guests will be tendered a grand banquet by the profession of Shelby county at Blessing^ Optra House in the evening, to which all members of the medical profession are oordially iuvited.

A Public Library Iiooni.

Mrs. Browning, the city librarian of Indianapolis, says that a library boom has stricken Indiana. Iu a large number of Hoosier towns the citizens are scratching for cash wherewith to purchase volumes for public libraries. Among them are Delphi, Michigan City, Shelbyville and Greensburg. Mrs. Browning has received a large number of letters regarding the establishment of libraries. She says the present law governing their establishment in smaller towns is of no account, and if they are established at all it will probably have to be done mostly by private donations. Greeufield is sadly in need of a good public library, aud we believe when the new school hou^e is built, a suitable room should be set aside for a library and public reading room. There are enough public spirited citizens in this city to furnish enough books for a splendid library. It would be a help to our entire city.

A Sanity Ini|iieot.

Yesterday Justices Geary and Spencer and Drs. Selman and King, of this oity, held a sanity inquest over Melvin Ball, of Mt. Comfort, aged 69 years. They made thfeir report today and declared him to be of unsound mind. He has been getting in this condition for about a year, and at times exhibits violent symptoms, and he also has a mania to commitBuicide. The papers have been sent to the Superintendent of the Central Insane Asylum at Indianapolis.

J. C. Lewis, one of the cleverest of comedians, assisted by a company of me'-it, presented the amusing Yankee drama, "Si Plunkard," to a fine audience in Hhawh'iirs Opera House last evening, and never was an audience more pleased. Mr. Lewis has surrounded himself with a good company. Sam C. Young, as the German comedian, is a whole team, and he was recalled after nearly every appearance. Mrs. Jeanette Lewis, Miss Rice and W. C. West all found favor with the audience aud were responsible for considerable merriment. As to the comedy itself, ther's just plot enough in it to bring out the quaint drelleries of the Yankee peddler and his coterie of friends, likewise his enemies. "Si Plunkard" scored a point and will be greeted by hosts of friends should he return to Tiflin. —Tiffin. O., Dai'y Advertiser, Nov. 8, IS9-1. Masonic Hall, Friday, March 29th
