"fiddles while Rome burns." That is, the General Assembly
dallies with petty matters while Rome, in all its alien and un-American influence "burns the bridges" over which legislation of a true American character never passes. Disarming of "dry" or prohibition law enforcement by restriction, petty fights, between1 chiropractors, and giving heed to lobbyists, claim the time of both houses, while such matters as taxation, education and law enforcement are virtually ignored. "Kill the Klan," Slogan. In the meantime, following the lead of the alien press of Ohio, the word is being put out to "swat the Klan." Kill anything that loyal Americans,
with true American ideals, may be
for. Carefully made plans to block in advance any real constructive legislation are being worked out behind tire smoke screen of chiropractors j and other less important discussion, j A bill to restrict powers of constables and other law - enforcing agencies that would disarm Ohio village courts and "centralize" all .pro

It is pointed out that it is an old trick to "control" a police force where salaries and "assignments.11 as well as actual employment is controlled by an inner circle o "higher ups." enemies of Protestantism nave xorgotten more about clannishness than members of the Klan ever heard tell of, and you can bet your sweet life they know how to practice it," he
further stated. Since the start of the American order in this little city the lesson of dealing with persons of the Roman faith has been dwelt on and emphasized more, probably, than any other, by the spokesmen for the old world hierarchy. It is being practiced faithfully, observing persons have learned, and it was only natural that a prominent business man should talk

Kendall county Klan is going to exert a powerful and effective influence in eliminating any bitterness that may exist in the rivalry between this town and I'lano is the belief of Klans
men. expressed at a meeting of the rounty organization last week. 'Iroups from both the local units are working to bring about the friendliest possible relations between the two communities and it is anticipated that such petty jealousies as may have existed in the past will be eliminated through the practice of true Klantiishness and by their influence among all Americans. First Chartered Meeting. The meeting last week was the first
held by the county organization since the Crnnd Dragon personally delivered the charter that places patriots here and in Piano, on their own responsibility. The officers of the county Klan are .about equally divided between Klansmen of the two town
ships and there is perfect harmony in launching the organization. At the county meeting the work was carried out with smoothness and arrangements were made to finance the preliminary1 organization work. A sales agent was appointed for The Illinois Kourier and the Exalted Cyclops is to serve temporarily as unit correspondent. Piano also has a sales agent, and correspondent and it is anticipated that-Kendall county will

President Burton, is .the fact that it "sets back the entire democratic movement in Japan." Another type of propagandist is the American business man who has interests in Japan or other countries affected by the new Immigration law A local paper says: 'Philip K. dentally a fee. Being in an office elected by the people he is free from threats of removal or political pressure and as a result more or leL i uncontrolable. The counter charge that some constables and mayors are using this power for fee-splitting has no weight in the opinion of many legislators, as all minor courts afford the right ot
appeal. Would Tie Official Hands. The bill not . only would restrict jurisdiction of village mayors and justices to their municipalities or
townships, but would prohibit them issuing search warrants for persons or property located outside of their districts. x likewise would restrict officers of the courts, such ' as village mar
shals and village liquor court deputies, to the territojej over which the mayor, municipal police judge or justice has jurisdiction. Wrangling over a bill to "control" chiropractors," a matter that is purely a personal fight between these practitioners and the regular school doctors, is also keeping the legislators from settling down to serious work. The absurd statement that this was a "Klan bill" only indicates the ridiculous limits to which the "anti-Klan's whisperings" in the session will go.
Any Klan connection with this matter is denied, and the statement is made that the Klan of Ohio as an organization is not behind any particular bill now before the House or Senate. Will Make Influence Felt.
That its powerful influence will be thrown behind deserving legislation and against un-American measures is. however, assured, and may be counted upon when the time for action arrives.
