Washington, Jan. 12. Everything
has been practically s 'ttled that Washington is to have aii old-fashioned inaugural ceremony and parade on March 4 when Calvin Coolidge is inaugurated President of the United States to succeed himself. It has been agreed that the ceremony and parade will be held and the only thing lacking of the olden days is a decision regarding the inaugural ball. This may he held. The program agreed on is practically the same as the inaugural that ushered in the Harding administra
tion four years ago. Congress has
appropriated ?40,000 to cover the expenses.
William T. Galliher, a Washington hanker, has.- been selected by the
President chairman of the local in augural committee, and Senator Cur
tls of Kansas, was elected chairman
of. the congressional committtee
These two men and two committees
will work together. The compression-1 a1Tommiti.ee has charge of the inaugural ceremonies at the Capitol, and the local committee looks after the parade and other affairs connected with the inaugural. The two committees have considered the plans and specifications of
the Harding inaugural four years ago and will follow closely its lines. Chairman Curtis has indicated that the amplifying stands, which enabled thousands of persons to hear and follow the ceremonies at the last inauguration will be placed this year. Th - amplifiers make it possible for several thousand persons to hear the addresses.

the religious beliefs or practices of Roman Catholics. The whole country is being stirred up by the bishops simply for political purposes because
the government is withdrawing the French political representative from the Vatican. The pope claims to be the sole dlfect representative of God on earth.. What the pope says is 'Divine law' for his 'subjects' everywhere, lie is trying to set up a worldly court at the Vatican and surr&und himself with diplomats from all countries, and when the French government refuses to help the pontiff to set up his super-national government
then the Frenqh government, to all loyal 'subjects' of the pope, is in open conflict with the 'Divine law.' Papal prelates -show the same attitude towards marriage laws, school laws and other laws in Canada and other countries. When civil laws conflict with papal laws, then the bishops obey the pope always. "This is the political attitude that makes Romanism a national menace and an international peril." . o
(Special to The Kourier.)) Kansas City, Mo., Jan. 12. Once again alienism has demonstrated its conception of law-abiding American citizenship by one of the ' most brutal murders in the annals of Kansas City crime. It was
committed in Kansas City's
"Little Italy," where the cru
cifix reigns supreme. Here is centered the hatred against
Klandom. In Italy proper
sits the head of Klan opposi
tion in America. Although
this foreign potentate pre
tends to have international
power among millions of his followers, the American people have yet to see him raise his hand against
this class of adherents. On the other hand, when native-
born Americans protest against these continual crimes, the overwhelming
majority of which are committed, as statistics will show, by the lower class of foreign element, this Italian potentate rises in all his fury against
a. set of citizens that would dare form themselves into an organization
to fight crime. I "" Rome Is Intolerant.
The lack of a Roman Catholic
monopoly on religion is the one and
only reason for the vicious attacks on the part of the Roman hierarchy against the millions of Americans who have formed themselves Into a solid mass for protection against the many evils that beset America. And thus, because of a middle-age dogma, citizens of Kansas City are forced to tolerate crime which could be eradicated with the proper help by all Protestant Americans. This consolidation of Protestant Americans, however, is more bitterly fought by the newspapers and. professional politicians than is the underworld, which is the cause of all the trouble. Never before has the fact that the American newspapers are controlled, brdv and soul by the Roman hier
archy been brought so vividly before
the people as it is today. There are
two opposing bodies in this countryOne is made up entirely of white, gen
tile, Protestant Americans, while the
other is made up of a polyglot from plutocrat to proletarian which can
only think in one direction, namely, j Italy. In taking sides against one of these forces, one can only be advancing the cause of the other. Would Make America "Dump" The Roman political machine would open wide the doors of America to the criminal, the feeble-minded, and the .degenerate of southern Europe, and is pledged to' work! untirrigiy for the triumph of its church ever the civil government of all countries. The other force, named the Ku Klux Klan, already by its efforts has helped to bring about laws prohibiting the continual influx of undesirables, and has. in a measure, stopped the growth of these foreign settle-
merits m Kansas iity. it also stanaa firmly for religious liberty, and will not tolerate the thought of America being ruled by a set of people who would force their creed upon the government, as the Ca.hollc church Is doing in Spain and other countries and is trying to do in France. After summing hese things up, it
is quite obvious taat any newspaper
which is against the Klan, is controlled by either the power of the Roman liierarch:. or questionable politic. In a recent issje of the Kansas City Journal-Post, that paper utterly ignores the crime committed by gangsters in Chicago, and speaks of a "Klan terror" in that city.
(Special to The Kourier.) Memphis, Tex'., Jan. 12. The Klan in this part of the Panhandle of Texas is making a steady and satisfactory growth. Memphis Klan had its annual "Get Together" meeting Fri
day night, and it was one of the greatest meetings in the history of
the local organization.
Some great Klan leaders are doing
splendid work in this community in educating the people and strengthen
ing the Klan in several counties. Their chief efforts are being expended in Motley county, where pioneers of the West's great open spaces welcome
the Klan as their truest friend.
Between the ninety -eighth and one
hundredth meridians in this part of
Texas lives a wonderful cross sec
tion of old stock American blood. Here you will find the hardiest types of the
pioneer. Here persons are about 98 per cent native born whites of old American lineage. It is not admitted in this district that the Appalachian
Mountains have any purer, strain.
