Of, By and For the People

In the wisdom and providence of Cod the Ku Klux Klan has-been raised up to save America in order that a government "of the people, by the people, and for the,, people, eh all not- perish from the earth." Otherwise the United States would soon be in the same chaotic condition as the countries in the old world, says the Good Citizen. " This great patriotic organization that has risen in bo short a time is the astonishment ot the civilized world. The principles for which it

stands and the rapid progress it has made in every state in the Union

bear testimony to its divine indorsement. These patriotic friends have been the means of drawing the line

of demarcation between un-Christian and un-American forces on the one hand and those who stand for the tenets of the Christian religion and Americanism on the other. Not Found Wanting

Judgment has been passed on the Klan by all classes, including the officials and the clergy, and thus the character and stamp of their religious, political, and commercial ambitions have been revealed. The people have had a chance to find out whether or not our public servants are actuated by selfish purposes or by motives inspired by real Ideals of democracy and patriotism.

If they are unloyal they will be found opposing the efforts of the Ku Klux Klan in its contention for American ideals and principles. Church politics in which men barter the principles of the Christian religion for personal aggrandizement, are often as corrupt aa those of the

CLASSIFIED ADVERTISEMENTS

old political parties with their Un

derhanded and iniquitous methods of office-seeking. White Supremacy At this time the whole civilized structure is being threatened by the mixing of the white and black races;

and if it is kept from going to pieces there must be a vigorous protest

made against unscrupulous and in

triguing men who would promise the

negro social equality to enhance their own personal interests. Jltis God's purpose that the white man should preserve purity of blood and white supremacy in this country. Those who would have it otherwise

or show leniency toward the mixing of white and colored races do not deserve the respect of anyone, -much

less of those who are trying to preserve American institutions, ideals and principles. A mongrel race and

a mongrel civilization mean decay

and ruin. A Prodigious Task

To keep the blood unmixed and

pure is a prodigious task, as it in volves legislation prohibiting inter

marriage; Dut tne Kiansmen, un

daunted, have undertaken to pre

serve the white blood untarnished and to maintain true American

ideals. They have written it into their creed that they will uphold the

constitution, and fight for the in

stitutions ana custom? which, supported by the supreme law of the

land, have made this the foremost nation in the world. The organization known as the Ku Klux Klan should have the support of all good

people.

DOVER, March. 8. At least 100,-

000 Klansmen from Ohio and the

middle west axe expected to attend a state Klonklave on the Klan farm, near this city, on Saturday, June 14.

The announcement of plana fol

lowed a recent meeting, in the Dover

American legion nan, wnicn was at

tended by more than 2,000 Klans

men of Dover and surrounding ter

ritory. It was the first big Klan

affair since the Christmas holidays

and among them were visiting Klans

men from Texas, Florida, New York

and many organisations in the Buck

eye state.

While plans for the state session

thus far are only tentative, it is promised that addresses will be delivered by some of the ablest Klan

speakers in the United States and it

has been intimated that the Imperial

Wizard himself may be present. At least he will receive an -invitation and Dover Klansmen declare they

will spare no efforts to make the event the biggest Klan affair in the

history of Ohio.

It has been suggested that a bar

becue be made a feature of the day's

program and this likely will be done

according to those in charge of the

arrangements. It is certain that

there will be no lack of entertain

ment. Music will be provided foy a

band of nearly 100 pieces and plans

also axe under consideration for

gigantic male chorus.

The committee has asked that

every Klansman in Ohio write the date on his hatband and make no

arrangements for June 14 which will

YOUNGSTOWN, O., March 8. Jealousy is believed to have prompted an unidentified man to leave a

threatening note, signed "K. K. K." In an automobile owned by Edward

Schwartz, of this city, last Thursday night. The note, which was attached to the steering wheel of the machine, road: "If you are wise you will stay away from Alameda. K. K. K." Schwartz told police that while he

was driving along a street in Youngstown about 9 o'clock, he was accosted by four men in a light car, one of whom yelled "Get him!" He eaid he increased the speed of his machine and the men pursued him until he reached police headquarters where he alighted and reported his experience to Chief Powell and Inspector Jenkins. The other machine kept on going, Schwartz said, but on returning to his car, he met a man who said he saw the note attached to the steering column and had paid particular attention to the men because he suspected they were attempting to steal the car. After reading the note, Schwartz turned

It over to the police. Schwartz declared he did not know any one living on Alameda avenue but said he did know a young woman whose home is in Alameda court. He was unable to give an accurate description of the men in the pursuing car further than to say they were white men and were riding in a Ford coupe. Police scoffed at the idea that the

note was a "Klan threat" and advanced the idea that it was written by another admirer of the young woman who is jealous because of Schwartz's attentions to her. Klansmen, it is understood, have offered to help in the investigation but the "victim" himself concurs in the police theory that the Klan had nothiDg to do with it.

The war against alien lawlessness continues to rage here, despite the report of political investigators for

the state that law enforcement conditions are greatly improved. The prohibition law especially is being, has been and apparently will continue to be violated by the alien element which constitutes considerably more than half the population

oi bteuoenviue. Tiie situation, in the opinion of many law-abiding citizens, is almost hopeless unless

politics can be eliminated. It is said by some that conditions warrant placing the city under martial control, but others who are more optimistic, are hopeful that the governor will take a hand. Recently two more prohibition agents were wounded, one perhaps fatally, in a revolver fight, in a raid on the home of Lazo Rudich, an alien, who, according to police and dry agents, has been one of the most persistent violators of the dry law. The agents say they were fired on

by the wife of Rudich in argument over the validity of the search warrant they carried. More than twenty

shots were fired, several of them finding lodgment in the wall over the bed in which Rudich lay sick. A man who, the prohibition officers say, fired several of the shots, was arrested, but he denies having participated in the fight.

Philadelphia Crooks Are Running to Cover PHILADELPHIA, March 8. So effective have been Director Butler's

blows against vice, banditry and bootlegging that, since the "fighting Quaker's" induction into office January 7, there has been a 20 per cent reduction in the number of felons tried in the criminal court, while most of Philadelphia's habitual gangsters have departed to more

congenial cities. Maurice Speleer, who, during ten years as assistant district attorney, has confined his activities to prosecution of felonies, said that at no previous time in ten years had the local jails been so free from per

sons awaiting trial. In the opinion of Mr. Spelser, Director Butler's "shoot to kill" Instructions to police have done much to keep gunmen from Philadelphia.
