JUNIOR ORDER HAS. WIDE ORGANIZATION
CRIPPLED MAN IS BLACKJACKED
(Continued From Page 1) Ec-nted by the state to the winning aggregation. Xenia defeated Springfield 21-0, the first gridiron score in the history of Junior Klandom. Veedersburg, Ind., Junior Klan has its club rooms, library, and facilities for indoor and outdoor ath
letics, and has shown remarkable en
thusiasm and activity in all branches
of the Junior work. A friendly rivalry exists 1 between Anderson and 121 wood, Indiana, two cities in the panic county, both of which have large and active Junior Klans. And so it goes wherever there is a Junior Klan. Enthusiasm, active patriotism, Interest In church work, and a full course of manly athletic instruction are outstanding features of the order. Bigger National Program With the plans for nationalizing the Junior Ku Klux Klan nearing completion, care is being taken thai each individual group of boys have an extensive field in which to develop their activities and originality. Frof reports received daily from the Junior Klans throughout the northwest territory, it is evident that no
manly activity in which boys take an interest is being slighted in the
least. ' The best part of the national pro
gram is the closer affiliation of ideals and ideas of the best of the coun
try's youth, and a sense of unifica
tion and solidity in striving for the
same goal throughout the nation
The Junior Klan of today is the
senior Klan of tomorrow, and the response the boys are giving to America's call, indicates that trained
, hands and minds will be ready when
the nine comes for the citizens of
tomorrow to support, uphold and de fi ml the principles of true Ameri canism.

At one time Lowe sold other Cin
cinnati papers but was discharged by those publications when he took
iip the sale of The Fiery Cross, al
though it did not interfere with his work for tliem and that he did not
sell The Fiery Cros3 and the other papers at the same time.
The Cincinnati dailies have been
careful not to mention the fact that
the assaulted man sold The Fiery Cross. Both times he has been re
ferred to as "the blind man" selling
a certain local paper, near the spot
where Lowe, who is not blind, has
his stand.
When Lowe was attacked last May,
his captors, after-torturing him and
threatening his life, loaded him bound and gagged into a machine and sped into Kentucky where, while
;oing at an approximate speed of
forty miles an hour, they hurled
Lowe from the car. At that time he
was found lying near the road by a
milk man at about sunrise.

It has been pointed out that Opponents of the Klan are injecting the question in school life here and that should the "insurgents'' demand fairness, the charge that they, the students, have
brought the Klan question to the
frtmt in the college, will be imme

to show the absolute unreliability of
tne stories printeu Dy mat coterie, oi New York newspapers in an effort to make it appear that the Klan is "on
its last legs." As was stated above, Illinois was one of those states which the Herald showed as "dwindling away." In no state In , the Union were there more or larger Klan celebrations held last summer and this fall, than in Illinois. Celebraiiefis lasting one week were staged and attended by tens of thousands of Klansmen each day. At Pekin, the Klan has recently purchased and now operates a daily newspaper; at Urbana, the Klan has just purchased a magnificent office building for its
headquarters and has purchased and
operates a standard theater; at Kan
kakee, the Klan has more than dou
bled its membership in the past few months and in many other places,
such as Champaign county, the rriembershlp has trebled. This is the trjie
situation that holds throughout the entire state of Illinois, and yet Illinois is one of these states, according to the New York Herald, where the Klan is "dwindling." Wyoming "One of the Immune" In Wyoming, it is the proud boast of the Klansmen of that state that each and every town in it lias its
local Klan. Wyoming is listed as on,xf the states which has not been "invaded" by the Klan. Kentucky is another state which the Herold declares to be "immune." Just one incident covering that state should be all that is necessary to show the fallibility of New York newspaper stories. In Paducah, Wynn Tally, candidate for mayor on the Democratic ticket at the late election
took an active part in an attempt to stop a meeting scheduled by the Klan. The entire Democratic ticket was elected except Wynn Tully. He was hopelesslybeaten by his opponent who had shewn that he was
favorable to the Klan. Stories Without Foundation So the story goes; one could easily cite, with space and time, one thousand reasons why the story carried by the New Yqrk Herald was inaccurate, unreliable and absolutely without foundation. However, the incidents cited here should be sufficient for any thinking person. The truth is that all methods heretofore
employed by the newspapers in an effort to stop the true Americans of
the country organizing for the pro

Would Have Citizens Know Truth The Elkhart county Klan is putting forth every effort to give all the citizens of the entire county an opportunity to know the truth about
this great organization, whose principles and ideals create in the hearts of loyal and true Americans a larger degree of reverence and patriotism to God and country, and which strikes terror to the hearts of those who would violate our laws and desecrate our noble land and holy institutions. At a meeting held recently in the city of Nappanee a speaker of the national platform spoke to an enthusiastic audience which filled the opera house. The Elkhart county Klan quartet furnished music for the
occasion.
On the evening of November 7th a meeting was held in the Elkhart armory. The speaker was a minister who has traveled in practically every state in the Union in the interest of the Klan. In spite of the fact that the meeting was not given much public advertising, due to lack of time, it was attended by approximately eight hundred men and women, coming from all parts of the county. Membership Increasing
On Thursday evening, November 8th, a meeting of the same nature was held in the city of Goshen. The
attendance there was about five' hundred. As a result of these efforts many applications for membership are coming into the secretary's office daily and a wonderful spirit of cooperation prevails among the membership. Because of the number of arrests of persons' recently for the illegal sale of liquor and operating public nuisances it is evident that some
body is working in this community.

Walton's career has been merely a
series of sensations which died a dismal death when absolutely no de
fense was presented for on the many charges preferred against him. He
was fbund guilty on eleven charges
of the sixteen presented by the leg
islature. The removal vote stood forty-one to nothing, and upon his
removal as governor of the state, Lieutenant-Governor Trapp became the state's chief executive.
How the Voting Stood The other votes taken by the legis
lature were as follows:
That he exceeded his pardon and
parole powers. Vote, 41 to 0.
That he placed his personal chauf
feur on the state health department j pay roll 35 to 6.
That he padded the state pay roll
38 to 3.
That he prevented the assembling
of a grand jury 39 to 1.
That he suspended the right to the writ of habeas corpus 40 to 1. That he issued a $10,000 deficiency certificate for the state health department when no deficiency existed 37 to 4. That he issued a deficiency certificate for $4,000 for a statenegro orphans' home in order to provide salaries for two negro barbers whom he ordered placed on the pay roll of the institution 40 'to 1. That he attempted to prevent a
special state election to be held Oct. 237 to 3.'
That he exceeded the legal limit of election expenses 28 to 13. That he solicited gifts and contributions for expenses of his office after he was elected Unanimous. kind of work" continues, and it surely will, even though we may have zero
weather soon, there will be some "warm" days for the bootleggers. Attend Fort Wayne Meet The Fort Wayne meeting was at
tended by a delegation from Elkhart county of between ten and twelve hundred men and women. The Elkhart county Klan band and drum corps were there in force. Elkhart county is proud of a band of fifty pieces, second to none in, Indiana. This band has done a very good piece of work as its part of the organization -in this county. They have
braved the weather many times: never complaining when it was hot or cold, windy or rainy. They have
stood always ready, always to be depended upon. There is at present a great simultaneous religious campaign on in Elkhart. "-The Protestant churches., with very few exceptions, are cooperating in this. The Klan is very much interested and backing this campaign as much as possible. There is within the local organization an increasing atmosphere of reverence for Christ and the church. All business meetings of the local Klan are
being held early in the evening so that everyone can go to church. It is hoped that during this campaign there will be a great "turning back" to God and to the chureh. A petition that the Bible be placed in city schools here, was presented to the local school board recently. Over seven thousand persons signed this petition.
Radio Head Makes Denial David Sarnoff, head of the Radio Corporation of America, New York, and whose name appeared in the list as a member, has declared that he does not belong. This information was contained in a telegram to The Fiery Cross. Samuel P. Leeds, president of thetjChamber of Commerce,
Atlantic City, declares that his name
was used without authorization.
A telegram from A. SI Newlands,
secretary for Mr. Leeds, reads: "Samuel P. Leeds has been in hos
pital tor tnree weeks. He is not a member of National Vigilance Asso
ciation. His name used without per mission or authority."
In view of the questionable tactics-used by the alien opposition to the Ku Klux Klan, this information
is not surprising. One of the names
used was that of John Sherwood
Jones of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania
.Information from there is that Mr,
Jones is unknown at Bryn Mawr
College as well as at the Bryn Mawr postofSce. Dr. P. L. Campbell, of the University of Oregon, located at Eugene, and who is named on the "list" by the Vigilance Association, enters a denial. He says:. "Have no knowledge of my name being connected
with national Vigilance Association. Know nothing of organization other than through occasional newspaper paragraphs." Thus does the gigantic hoax, thoroughly in keeping with that perpetrated by the alien opposition to the Klan, in giving a fake message from President Coolidge to the press, grow
into volume and once again show to the world the depths to which those
persons opposing the Ku Klux Klan will stoop. "Use of Name Unauthorized" Rust Rhees, president of Rochester University, one of the "members" of the new organization, in a crypt wire says: "Use of my name by National Vigilance Association is unauthor
ized." And yet these men behind the National Vigilance Association, who would have all America believe them
to be sincere, use the methods displayed by them in foisting on the newspapers of America, a list which has the very earmarks of having been taken from a directory. In the case of President Aley of Butler College, this virtuous association used his name over his protest and after
With Backs to Wall
The amalgamated enemies of
America are now fighting with their
backs to the wall as the Klan con
tinues to be augmented with sterling
red-blooded Americans who realize
the menace of the alien interests
that now casts its shadow across the
fair face of our country. The repre
hensible tactics used by the oppo
sition to the Klan, including slander,
lies, faked messages, lying lists, paid
propagandists, assault and battery
murder and every other scheme that
can De contrived in the cunning
brains of trained plotters, are only
reacting in favor of the Ku Klux Klan. What explanation can the Na
tional Vigilance Association offer to the public for printing a list such as appeared in the daily newspapers? Possibly it feels that none is needed; that these organizations - of -aliens have so long been fakingjnews and insulting the intelligence kf Americans that the public will stand for it and that the men who have been maligned by fake messages and lyI ing lists have no recourse but denial
and that these denials will be swal-
owed up in the vast amount of news. Founded Upon Deceit The National Vigilance Associa
tion has proved to the world that It
is founded on deceit; that It has used the names of prominent men, not only without authorization but
under protest of those men, and that every indication points to the association having used a directory from
punctured attempt to convince Amer
ica that the educators of this country are against the Mian.
Their entire procedure is that of the
crafty alien who for centuries past
has been steeped in- deceit, schooled
in intrigue and drilled in secret and
reprehensible plotting. The organization burst into print with a lie and as it has shown no signs of life it will most probably be left to lie where It falls.
Columbus Klan Initiates COLUMBUS, O., Ndv. 21. Three thousand people witnessed the initiation ceremony of the Ku Klux Klan held here last" week when 700 candidateswere "naturalized." It was an inspiring scene when the candidates, massed in a column eight abreast and eighty-five deep, were conducted to the altar. On account of the rapid growth of the Klan in Columbus the organization is facing a problem of securing quarters of sufficient size to accom
modate the membership and visitors who attend the meetings.
SHOCK TROOPS The advertisers of the Fiery Cross are the Shock Troops of Klandom. They expect and deserve the patronage of all Protestant Americans.

it had received, two letters from him
declaring that he would not be a member. This organization, one of the heads of the hydra-headed, un-American Unity League, which is sponsored by Joe Roach, assassin, and Pat O'DonnelL jury fixer, is evidently following in the footsteps of its parent organization and heralds its existence
io the world with a lying list of names of oersons, some of whom had never heard of the organization. Being a part and parcel of the amalgamated enemies of America, it also follows in the footsteps of the Knights of Columbus, an organization which, while our late president was still unlmried, sent to the press a fake message from the new presi
dent, a message which they afterward "admitted was a mistake." 'ow comes the Vigilance Association ..with another fake story and then "admits" the use of President Aley's name an "error." Their actions are those of the Ancient Hibernians, an. organization
