LIVINGSTON", Ky., Oct. 27. One of the largest crowds that waa ever

present at a Klan meeting in Logan county assembled here last Saturday night when Dr. W. Williams delivered an address on the principles of the organization. Dr. Williams,

whose home is in Lexington, appeared on the platform in full Klan regalia and spoke under a large electric cross. Following the address an initiation was held at which about forty candidates were admitted into the organization. It was past midnight when the ceremonial was over. During his address Dr. Williams was applauded most frequently and handled his subject in a most excellent manner. He told many facts that were received by the -big audience with much appreciation. Ever increasing interest in the

Klan is being seen in Logan county i and speakers are always met with

much enthusiasm. Auburn, Russellville, Adairville and Lewisburg each have an organization and it is planned to Jiold a parade in the near future by the combined Klans of the county.

(By Staff Correspondent) URBANA, 111., Oct. 27. A large electric cross and three electricallylighted Ks are now under construction to top the new "Zenith" Theater

which has been purchased by the

Zenith Klan and which is now

known as the Illinois Theater. The

local Klan bought the magnificent building in which the theater fs sit

uated and the building will be used

for a Klavern and Klan headquarters.

The building is well located and

easily accessible for the entire

county. It offers an ideal location for public speakings, meetings and ceremonials in addition ,to being adaptable for state and province conventions. An invitation has been issued to all visiting Klansmen to make tnemselves at home at the headquarters maintained there.

The theater in the building will be operated under the management of militant Protestant Americans and

a number of sterling attractions have

already been booked. Swift Growing Organization

Zenith Klan is one of the swiftest

growing Klans in the state of Illi

nois and it is doubtful if any have

excelled the record made by the lo

cal organization within the past few months in which ft has trebled its

membership.

Plans are now being made for a big dedication ceremony to be held some time in November when it is hoped to have Dr. H. W. Evans, Imperial Wizard, present on the occasion. The date has not yet been set but will be announced shortly. It is now planned to get a very large percentage of the population of

Champaign county into the organiza

tion by May, 1924. The population

or this county is approximately 50,-

000 and by thp date set many more thousands of the eligibles within the

county will be membess of the Klan.

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky., Oct. 29. It has become known that the Women

of the Ku Klux Klan is organized in this county. Last week a class of one hundred candidates was initiated into the organization at a town not far from here. On last Thursday night a woman speaker delivered a fiery address here at a meeting held by the women and was met with much applause. It is understood that the women's organization is growing with great

rapidity although but little more than having got under way. The men's organization- nas been established' in this county for some time and has had a phenomenal growth. On last Monday night the Klan held a meeting in the Dot neighborhood at the close of which a number of men indicated their intention of joining the organization. A large number of residents of Adairville attended the meeting.

DANVILLE, Ky., Oct. 27 Automobiles choked the road leading to the W. L. Neal farm near here on last Monday night when the Ku Klux Klan held an outdoor ceremonial at which a large class of candidates was Initiated into the organization. Two large fiery crosses threw their reflection into the sky during the ceremony. Members from this county and surrounding counties took part in the meeting.

The Klan has shown ever increasing activities in this part of the state and it is understood that the organization is making great strides. Reports are received here from- many

points in which it is stated that initiations, "speakings, meetings and

oven parades are being held by the Klan organization. The belief of a few months ago, that the Klan would never gain a foothold in Kentucky, has long ago melted away before the flare of the fiery crosses . that are now beginning to dot the hillsides with ever increasing frequency.

(Special to The Fiery Cross) WINCHESTER, Ky., Oct. 27. Dr. E, H. Lougher spoke before an enthusiastic audience which packed the circuit court room in the courthouse

here on last Monday night. Hundreds of men and women were turned away after the court room had been filled to overflowing. The meeting waa the first public meeting to have been held in Clark county.

Dr. Lougher was received with much enthusiasm and handled his subject most impressively. He spoke on the principles of the Ku Klux Klan and the audience gave him a rousing ovation. Following the close of the address more than one hundred men signified their intention of becoming identi

fied with the great American movement. The Klan, it is known, is

rgrowing rapidly here and in the ter

ritory surrounding Winchester. Reports from other counties show the same thing to be true there.

Boone Poat No. 4 of the American

Legion has repudiated in no uncer-

tami terms the state officials of the legion who are said to have passed

a resolution condemning the Ku Klux

Klan. The action was taken at the last regular meeting of the local post in this city. After declaring that the Boone Post was not represented at the state meeting the resolution reads in

part as follows: "Whereas, the American, Legion is ajad should be a non-political and

non-sectarian organization, the aforesaid resolution is aimed solely at the members of one religious belief, to wit: Protestant; and in effect condemns our comrades of Protestant belief without a hearing and without evidence against them; and further, being the only secret ordar of all races, creeds pr religious beliefs, mentioned in said resolution and by such silence the said convention appears to endorse the secret orders or societies of Jews, Catholics and ne

groes, and un-American societies composed of persons not citizens of these United States, and directs its

venom solely at this Protestant order

or society, the membership of which

according to public utterances of speakers representing said society consists only of native-born, white,

gentile, American citizens, of Prot estant belief; and Protestants Condemned

American Legion, ' wishes the citizen of our great and beioved commonwealth, to know that it resents and condemns the passage of said resolntiott. condemning the Kxl Klux Klan, a Protestant organization, and condemning our comrades- for their membership therein; and regrets

that members of the American Legion, of religious beliefs other than Protestant, should, by the passage of such a resolution, create the impression among the Protestant citizenship of Kentucky, that the Department of Kentucky, American - Legion, is controlled solely by members consisting of Catholics, Jews and Negroes; and further, in view of the well-known fact that the American

Legion is a non-political and non-

sectarian organization, Boone Post

wishes the good citizens of our state

to know that it not only resents and

condemns the passage of the afore

said resolution, but also in no an-

mlstakable language condemns either the approval, or disapproval of any and all secret orders or societies of any and all creeds or beliefs by the American-Legion or any department or post thereof."

Condemnation 'ot Approved The Boone Post is following the action taken by other local legion posts that have repudiated the action taken by the state convention of the legion held in Ashland during September. That the American Legion as a body does not approve of the condemnation of the Khs is seen by the protests eoming in from the local posts throughout the state. The resolution passed by the Boone Post is the most emphatic up to this -date.

No crime is more infamous than the violation of truth.
