CHICAGO, 111., Aug. 20. Directors

of the Standard Oil Co. of Indiana,

after a meeting today, telegraphed

to Gov. McMaster of South Dakota tendering him any Information or

It was underStood that any Bteps toward Increasing the price of gasoline after the drastic cut through the territory of the Standard Oil Co. of Indiana would await developments. Ordered Gas Price Drop Gov. McMaster, on Aug. 7, ordered gasoline, then selling at 26.6 cents a gallon in South Dakota, sold to the public at 16 cents by the State Oil

Early this week the Standard Oil Co. reduced Its prices accordingly, not only In South Dakota, but proportionately throughout its territory, although stating that the new price was much below cost. Wednesday Gov. McMaster decided at a meeting with Independent oil men to raise the price to 20 cents, effective Saturday. PEORIA, 111., Aug. 16. Postal authorities here are puzzled over the ending of a snake through the mails to a Peoria family and Postmaster B. C. Colborn sees a possible BlackHand plot. The snake package bore the return card, "John Roscie, Bloomtngton, 111.," and was received by the family of Cole C. Landers,

traffic manager of the Western Brick Company, here. The package was delivered to the wrong address yesterday afternoon and was discovered by Alice Ruswark, age 12, who lives with the Landers family. Girl Opens Package Miss SuBan Landers, aged 13, unwrapped the package and a snake a foot and a half in length crawled out The girl ran screaming into the yard and a neighbor choppod the snake's head oil with a hatchet. "I never heard of anybody by the name of Roscie," Miss Landers said this morning. The postmaster does not believe the snake was sent from Bloomlngton. The case has been

turned over to Postal Inspector

Gould.
