AND ALIENS ARE (Continued From Page 1)
other matter that doesn't appeal
greatly to citizens of this city.
Due to the fact that Mayor Durgan
journeyed to Indianapolis to speak before the un-American Unity League
at a time when peaceful meetings of Protestants were being attacked by
mobs of hoodlums, under leaders
well hidden behind the scenes, it would appear that the mayor has become an active agent of the unAmerican Unity League, an organization spawned in black hate by Joe Roach, an assassin, and Mad Pat O'Donnell, a jury fixer, and to whose forces have been added of late, one John McNamara, ex-convict and dynamiter. As Mayor Durgan was "appealing" for the "elimination of fanaticism," reports were being received from
Steubenville, Ohio; East Chicago,
Ind.; Elmira, N. Y.; Winnebago,
Minn. and many other points, that peaceful Protestant citizens were being attacked. Police Save Protestant Minister In. Elmira it "was necessary to call the police to save a Protestant minister; at East Chicago a hoodlum threw a stone to start the raid on the Protestant gathering and struck a man in the face. It was necessary to call on the police for protection.
At Steubenville a mob of 3,000 fanatics, according to newspaper stor
ies, attacked 100 men emerging from j a hall - where they had held a peaces ful and legal meeting. One of the 1 attacked men was shot and many others injured, and by the same forces that Mayor Durgan represents. Mayor Durgan. who is calling out against "fanatics." Mayor Durgan doesn't' smean "fanatics"; he means Protestants must be eliminated. At Winnebago a man was stoned from the platform on which he wished '"to speak and exercise his
right jis an American citizen under the Constitution of the United States. This man had the same inalienable
right to speak as did Mayor Durgan when he "appealed" for the "elimination of fanaticism-" The incidents named above are but a minor few that took place over the entire country within a space of two days, and

Just opposite the truck were two tents between which swung a large banner bearing the word "Information," and on one of the tents was a sign reading: "Men K. K. K.," while on the other was a similar sign, thus: "Women K. K. K." All desired information was given out at these places. Thursday night at the fair was Klan night and the biggest crowd
that ever gathered together in . the history of the grounds was on hand, although the weather was such that would dampen most anything but the spirit of Americanism. One of the crowning features of the ceremonies which took place partly in the city proper, was the flaming of a gigantic fiery cross from the very peak of the courthouse tower, which could be seen for miles and miles throughout the country. The big parade started
at the west entrance of the fair grounds and made its way through the business district of the city, headed by a company of horsemen in full Klan regalia and the Tipton County Ku Klux Band, which re
ceived hearty applause at its very
first appearance. - Drum Corps a Feature
Another feature of the parade was the drum corps and buglers from Ko-
komo, the delegation winning ap
plause throughout the entire line of
march.
Delegations from Wabash, Swayzee, Elwood, Anderson, Indianapolis and Nobtesville, in addition to the
towns of this county, also took part
in the parade.
Cheer after cheer greeted the line
of 'women in full regalia who carried large American flags and who made a very pretty spectacle as they passed
along between the throngs that gath
ered on either side.
The thorn in the side of all for
eigners, better known as The Fiery Cross truck, also blazed its way
along the line of march.
Long before the parade the police
were compelled to stop all parking of machines within the fair grounds and aH streets were jammed" "with autos as , were all '.reads leading to
and from Tipton.
When the marchers finally dis
banded at the fair grounds a short
talk on the principles of the Klan
was given by a well-known speaker
and was received wfth much enthu
siasm by the audience. The Klans
men and their families then visited
the various places . of amusement
and thefcxhibits.---
It was no nice place for "Mad
Pat O'Donnell.

ing -machinery of Uncle Sam were not sufficient to quell the newsboys, Limber Lunged Lew could put into
action the air service. Of course, John McNamara would, no doubt, be at the head of the bombing squad and he could toss" little, pellets of dynamite at the newsboys from his air squadron. Captain Sherlock Pope, bodyguard to Limber Lunged Lew at the present time, would, no doubt, be put in charge of the secret service. It Is possible, with the entire seerct serv ice of the United States at ils command, he mlffht find ont why a tour
ing car license, issued to the city of
Indianapolis, Is used by John Mnllln,
now Inspector of detectives, on a Ford sedan which, to all Intents and
purposes, belongs to John Mnllrn. Also, he might inform the public
where Mullln got the car.
During his spare time, Captain
Pope could take enough pictures of golf links and possibly find the
missing link while doing it to war
rant Limber Lunged Lew in taking
over Niagara Falls for Colonel House
Armitage, instead of just giving him
little $17,000,000 water company
here in Indianapolis.
Brooks and O'Donnell Placed "Doggie" Brooks, motorcycle cop.
would most probably be elevated to
the head of the infernal revenue de
partment, due to his vast experience
in collecting revenue for the un-
American Unity League, which, no doubt, would be given space in the White House by Limber Lunged Lew,
from which .it could carry on its
campaign of destruction of all things
Protestant.
"Mad" Pat O'Donnell, who spreads
so much bull, would, undoubtedly
find a place in the cabinet as secre
tary of agriculture, while Fred Cline
now of the park board, would be
made secretary of the treasury owing
to his wonderful sagacity In money, matters. Under his marie hand, bar
ren wastes could he picked up for a
song in The threat American Desert and sold for fabulous prices for locating government hospitals.
It is believed that Councilman Otto
Ray will .find a way on the ticket as vice-president,- both for the reason that vice-presidents aTe never heard
of and so that he can be in close
touch with the Senate so that he may
get an nnti-mask bill introduced In Congress to prohibit the soldiers
wearing gas masks. Vice-President
Ray has a horror for masks. There is no doubt President Lim
ber Lunged Lew would nicely round
ont his cabinet. For secretary of state there is Joe Roach, assassin, who most probably would have his Bummer office in Montreal, Canada; from Which he now issues bo many statements. He would amply be fitted for the position on account of his untiring work among the foreigners and would be most efficient in foreign affairs. Secretary of Labor O'Brien
Fire Chief O'Brien, who labors so faithfully to get all the Masons dis-
charged from the employ of the city, Would fit in perfectly as secretary
of labor. Limber Lunged Lew is always in for innovations and he
could open a bureau of hate for Chief
O'Brien to operate during his spare
time.
Inspector of Detectives Mullin, due
to his great familiarity with the in
terior of his Ford sedan, would, no
doubt, be made -secretary of the in
terior. The valued experience of Jim Armitage, ex-member of the park
board, obtained in a commercial way-1
.with his mules, fits him, without
doubt, into the office of secretary of commerce. Francis F. Hamilton, whom the taxpayers of Indianapolis,
who have had -any business in the
building department, have found such
a General Nuisance," would immedi
ately' become attorney-general. The fact that he is not now qualified under the law to hold the position he
has would ably fit him for holding the office of attorney-general without having become .an attorney. Ex-Prize Fighter Conld Lkk Stamps After these appointments there remains but one vacancy in the Limber Lunged Lew cabinet, that of postmaster-general. Due to the speed attained by the Fronty-Ford which Patsy McMahan drives, in wild rides over the city at night with a
