GOOD BOUTS AT FORT; ARENA IS ENLARGED
Carpenters are busy at Fort Benjamin Harrison erecting an additional 1,000 Beats at the boxing arena. Soldiers have been busy lor the past month putting the new aiena into shape and the boxing bowl is now one of the finest in this state and compares favorably with any to be found in the Central "West. The arena is located near the center of the reservation and is easily reached by traction or motor. Among the bouts held at the arena are some of the best, if not the best, held in Indiana. Matches are held each Tuesday night and the leading exponents of the fistic art are on the card3. Among the spectators each Tuesday night are to be found some of the leading citizens of Indianapolis and Indiana. Captain WilBon, who referees the bouts and un
der whose direction the matches are held, has succeeded in lifting the boxing game to" a higher plane in Indianapolis, with the .result that added interest is manifest and the attendance at the fort is most gratifying. The boxing, which will take place
every Tuesday night, is not for commercial gain and the proceeds will go to build a swimming pool for the soldiers, of which they are greatly in need.

Following an election of officers by
the un-American -Unity League on Wednesday night of last week, much
comment is being heard and questions asked as to why that un-Amer
ican organization holds so many
elections of officers. The fact that
James E. Deery refused to accept renomination to the office of president is also causing considerable comment. It has been rumored that an election of officers was held to cover up the fact that Mr. Dec. no longer
wished to serve as president and that
the league did not wish to make his resignation public: therefore, an
other convenient election of officers was held. The new officers of the un-American Unity League are: Jacob Morgan, attorney, president; Dr. Amelia Keller, "neither Catholic, Jew nor negro," vice-president; Henry E. Harmon, secretary; Ralph Bam
berger, ably fitted for the position, I
treasurer. . . League About to Crack For the past ten days persistent rumors to the effect that the unAmerican Unity League was about to crack have been afloat. Blocked on every side in their campaign of destruction, hate and un-Americanism, the action of the city council in refusing to be a jaarty to its nefarious campaign, is now said to be the last little straw upon the big camel's
back. Internal strife, it is hinted, was the cause of the election. From other quarters comes the report that
certain officers were anxious to "get out from under." i Smiles greet the assertion of the league that it has several thousands of members in Marion county. Scowls are also said to have greeted those agents seeking money with which to carry en the fight against Protestantism in Indianapolis. There are those who were willing to give, it is understood, when it was thought that the league was "going to get
some place," but with naught but reversals purse strings tightened up. It is even possible that Gus Efroymson, of the H. P. Wasson Company, is tired of digging up for a lost cause. Boyeott Brings Protest

Another story that has evidently lealced out, because of the fact that it persists in-"going the rounds," is that the action of the league in "ordering a copy of the council's action sent to all members of the league," caused a big blow-up by those who could see nothing - but wholesale boycott as a reason for the action. The "order" suddenly caused a light to dawn- upon certain members of the league, it Is said, and
these certain members "spoke right out in school." And with the result that the un-American Unity League,
sponsored by "Mad" Pat O'Donnell,
jury fixer, and Joe Roach, assassin,
again elects officers.
To add to the league's troubles, a report has been circulated that much
trouble is being experienced in "fix
ing" the negro population, although enough propaganda has been spread to cause the lower class of negroes
to begin arming themselves with
guns purchased of a certain wellknown negro politician in Indiana avenue. Also to have negroes in the
community around Twelfth- and Payette streets subscribe for Toler
ance, the hate sheet, and donate
money for the building of a Catholic
church.
However, where intelligence holds
sway, the un-American Unity League
is against a stone wall; the intelligent negroes of Indianapolis are not falling - for buncombe put out by
"Mad Pat's" followers. This is an
other straw that helped strain the hump on the back of the ship of the
desert; the intelligent negro who has prospered under Protestant rule, is
not armfhg himself to shoot down
Protestants.
Dr. Keller Promoted It is possible, though, that the followers of assassin Joe Roach believed that Dr: Amelia -ICeller, who is neither Catholic, Jew nor negro,
would be able to "carry the message to Garcia," and called another election to put her in office when those already empowered by the league began to falter when brought face to face with the impending possibilities created by the league In its program
Committees Busy
Committees on entertainment, traffic and other important matters are working night and day to have
everything m readiness for the ten3 of thousands which will sweep down on Kokomo at the break of day on
Wednesday. Merchants, hotels, cafes and restaurants are stocking
up and making arrangements to handle the biggest crowd in the history of Howard county's capital. Traffic managers of the street car lines, interurban and steam roads are perfecting their plans for the day of all days in this city. It is expected that more than 100,000 Indiana Klansmen alone will find the road to Kokomo. With Ohio declaring that her delegations will outnumber those of the Hoosier state, and Illinois and Michigan prepared
to send thousands upon thousands of Klansmen to the Independence Day celebration, it almost takes one's breath to attempt an estimate of just how many real Americans will hie to Kokomo.
Although the Knights of the Ku Klux -Klan will celebrate our independence throughout the nation, while thousands of fiery crosses throw their glare high in. the heavens, the meet in this city will be the largest Klan gathering ever held to date. Local Klansmen Active The local Klan members have been working diligently to the point that the visiting Klansmen will find
hospitality at every hand and that no inconvenience mar their perfect day. The grounds on which the program of the day will be held is the property of the local Klan. A feature of the day will be the part taken by the women of the Ku Klux Klan, who will participate in the ceremonies. This will be the first occasion that the women's organization will have taken part in any Joint ceremonies of such a na
ture. The recent amalgamation of
patriotic women's organizations into one order,- and the recognition by
the Imperial Kloncilium, makes this
possible.
All roads (used to) lead to
Rome."
But those days are gone and on
July Fourth, under the starry ban
ner of a free America, all roads will
lead to Kokomo!

KANSAS CITY, June 30. While
Kansas City paid homage to the

According to members of the crowd
of 1,800 persons who watched the ceremonies it was initiation night for the Kansas City, Kaa., Ku Klux Klan.
Two hundred new members are said to have been enrolled on the Klan's books. It was the first time in the history
of the Kansas City, Kaa., Klan, that
Klansmen . came mounted on horses. The site of the meeting is outside
the city limits and as a consequence Kansas City, Kas., police made no at

Playing Ball With the Home Boys:
In every community there are those persons who always back the visiting team when instead they should be shoulder to shoulder with the home boys for the home boys are their neighbors, their friends. You've met those chaps whose loyalty to the home team wavers and yon don' - t m very high. This apt truth from the realm of sports typifies just what is needed in business. The business man looks upon his customers as his best friends. Their appearance and reappearance in bis store brings him the satisfaction that his sendee to them makes the customers return. The business man takes great pride in the satisfaction of his customers. And sometimes the customers exhibit that same pride of satisfaction. The business menin your community who have the same interests as you, the same ideals as you, belong to the same organizations as you and are standing shoulder to shoulder with you in the things you want done for the community, certainly deserve the reciprocity which should come to them from you. Organizations are founded with definite plans, with the exemplification of the ideals of its members and these are only accomplished when all persons in the organization are linked together for the common cause. Going .all the way lor the cause marks you as a loyal, fine-spirited and true follower of that cause. By helping your iello-rr-'-p voi in turn reflect that help to yourself.
