New York, February 19. The recent arrest of four Klansmen in New York because the chauffeur was alleged by the police to have in his possession at the time a pint of whiskey, and the subsequent assessment of excessive bail; and the statement by Magistrate Dale, that "Brooklyn has no room for the Ku Klux," brought severe criticism from the New York newspapers. Even "The World" gagged at what it termed "Ku Kluxing the Ku Klux Klan," and in answer to Magistrate Dale and District Attorney Dodd, "The World" said, "Brooklyn has as much room lor members of the Ku Klux Klan who are convicted of no crime as it has for District Attorney Dodd or for Magistrate Dale." Klansmen of New York deny that there was any whiskey in the car until a bottle was produced by a member of the bombing squad of Hylanized cops who made the arrests.

INDIANAPOLIS KLAN
BY THEIR DOINGS (Continued from Page 1.)
Akron, Ohio, Feb. 17.-The local Ku Klux Klan came near getting a Are hose ducking Tuesday night when Companies 3 and 6 responded to an alarm on Sherbondy bill.
Tne Kluxers were staging one oft
their ceremonies. They burned a wooden cross saturated in coal oil. Some one thought a house on the hill was afire and turned in an alarm. When the department reached the foot of Sherbondy hUl they discovered what was going on and turned around. The Klan members have been staging several similar demonstrations in Akron during the past tew weeks.' a

Knights of the Ku Klux Klap, Indianapolis Klan, Realm -of Indiana. Best People Join Klan in Darlington Darlington, Ind., Feb. 20. If the report is true, that when an organization of the Ku Klux Klan is perfected in a town, a fiery cross is burned near that town, then Darlington has a Klan organization, for last Saturday night the attention if the people on Main St. was attracted to the west where a cross some 20 feet high was burning brilliantly. The cross had been placed in a field just west of Matt Horn's residence on the cement road and was directly in line with Main St. A large number of people went to the scene for a close look at the emblem of an organization that is causing a great deal of comment, both favOrable and unfavorable, "but which seems to be increasing in numbers
every aay. This organization is made up of the best men in the nation and are nativeborn, white, Gentile, ProteBtant, American citizens that have the best interest in their community, city, state and nation at heart. It is a Christian, militant vleilant nrs-nnlzn.
tion. It is not an anti-organization but
a pro-organization and has no hatred toward anyone. This organization is not a tar-and-feather outfit. Neither does it take the-law fn its own bonds.
