Elwood, Ind.: i Editor of The Fiery Cross: Dear Sir Just a few words from an English American who . Jmires the grit and spirit of all true 100 per cent. American citizens of the Ku Klux Klan, for the stand it takes in bringing back to this land of the free the true democracy for which our boys fought and died in Flanders. The more I read of The Fiery Cross the more I wish it was a daily paper instead of a-weekly. I can assure you that I was very deeply impressed when I read in The Fiery Cross the address given by my old friend, the Rev. W. 11. Brightmire of the Methodist, church of Indianapolis. I have known him for years and can vouch for anything that he may say in regards to the good -things that the Ku Klux Klan is doing for the coming generation, and for the welfare of our children who will some day have to fight, the battles that we have left unfought. Brother Brightmire is a man who has always, since I have known him,
preached the true gospel of Jesus Christ, regardless of whom may be among his congregation, as he always used to say if they do not want the truth told to them it is either I am in the wrong church or they are and he was always liiced for his straigRt-for-wardness. But to compare such ministers of the gospel as Rev. O. L. Kiplinger of Mansfield, O., and another who goes by the name of the Rev. Wallace L. Gallup, pastor of the Presbyterian church on Green Ave., New York City if these two reverend gentlemen would preach the gospel instead of preaching to suit their congregations they would be more thought of by the real American public. I read a piece
of dope which has been written in that beautiful volume that is being distributed in Elwood by the Catholics, which is entitled "Truth and Light," and is written by that worldfamous editor, A. C. Windle of Chicago, who tries to pull the wool over your eyes claiming that he is a Protestant. Well, if that worthy gentleman is a Protestant then all the snakes have left America. The book goes on to tell of that worthy New
York minister who denounces all who belong to the Ku Klux Klan as a band of men who are striving to tear down America's principles. Well, according to his address in "Truth and Light " I am very sincere when I say that I don't think that they would have to go very far to tear down his

principles, for, I don't think that he or that other reverend gentleman of Mansfield, O., ever have many to tear down. The only principles they ever had was the silver jJollaf. If their congregation would take from them their monthly salaries they would strip those reverend gentlemen of all the religion they ever possessed, and I think the best place for ministers
of the gospel of that kind would be to send them over to Rome with that big banana pedler and let him feed them on some of his dope for awhile, and' in years to come it may teach them to have little more respect for our young daughters and sons who are today being tutored by Catholic teachers in our public schools of America. I am a Methodist and am proud of it, but nevertheless I have often heard it said by Catholica the reason that the pope of Rome was superior to anyone else was that he was God's administrator. But I find it in my Bible that when God was upon earth that he mingled with the poor and not the rich; also does it
not say in the scripture that God be
came poor upon this earth, so as we
may become rich in his glory? In the first place what did our Savior want with an administrator? He was no
large land owner or capitalist or financier, even if it were true I think that he would have had more respect for Himself and for the good work He accomplished while upon earth to leave in the hands of a "Hunky" the destiny of millions of people who were to occupy this earth generation after generation when he took his departure from this earth to dwell on the right hand of His Father in Heaven. I am one, although not eligible to
belong to the Klan, who firmly believes in its teachings and that is 100 per cent. American. America first, last and all the "time. Wishing you success in the good work you are daily accomplishing throughout the country, and hoping that the day will soon arrive when you will be able to hring it to bear on the minds of the American public at large, that the sons of our forefathers who fought to bring freedom to this, our land of the free, are going to rule this, our dear old land of the Stars and Stripes, and not the pope of Rome or his standing army, the It. of C. Sincerely yours, A Reader of The Piery Cross.

New Castle, Ind Editor of The Fiery Cross:
Dear Sir I have been a reader of the Fiery Cross ever since I learned
of it. L.d.pn't, miss a.naper
In reading the issue of Jan. 19, I saw some "Letters to the Editor" in regard to Catholics teaching in our public schools. It calls back to my
memory of. a very serious remark a teacher made in the school at Williamsburg, Ind. My Children were in school there at that time and heard the remark. Something was said about the Bible. That teacher said the Holy Bible was the worst enemy she had. When I heard of it I went to the trustee about it. He said he had heard of it and had told this teacher if she wanted to finish her school not to again make such a remark, or in any way 'mention Catholicism in the school. This same teacher has since then taught school
in New Castle, Ind.
I have a nephew who told me this
teacher said "It was not good to read
Bible verses to small children in
school." So it seems very plain to me
that the Catholics are against our
Holy Bible. And another question for the con
sideration of the Protestants: Do yon
know of any Protestant teacher in a
Catholic or parochial school?
Anyway, why should we permit a teacher in our schools who does not
approve of the Bible? If we were to lose our Protestant churches and our Bible this would be a terrible place
to live. I think the American people
should wake up and shake off that at
titude of indifference and take some
part in our community and national
problems and we all will be better off.
I am living m hopes of a 100 per
cent, daily paper in the near future.
A 100 Per Cent.
Rockfield, Ind., Jan. 31.
Editor The Fiery Cross:
Sunday, Jan. 27, 1923, Rev. Atkinson of the Rockfield Presbyterian church, delivered a sermon on "The Issues of the Day." It was an appeal to all 100 per cent. Americans "to be up and doing." He showed the dangerous ground upon which negligent Protestants and the couBtry is drifting. He opened, up the festering spawn of degenerate Judaism, Roman Catholicism and gave us more of an insight into the putrid mess of rotten politics that Is endangering the principles of white supremacy. It was an appeal without fear or favor to red-blooded Americans. There were in his audience, no doubt, Klansmen, and the three great soldier organizations the G. A. R., S.-A. War Veterans and the American Legion, were also represented in the audience. When we heard the wonderful message and our eyes beheld Old Glory and the Bible before us we felt the spirit of 'CI, of '08 and 1017 return. The writer felt like he could once more say this day: "I will consecrate my life, my all again to the cause of Protestantism, a free coun
try and free institutions." Once more we heard the call to rally around the "Stars and Stripes," and, if necessary, to give our lives that the flag of freedom baptized in the blood of patriots and Protestant martyrs should ever be the flag of
freedom and never be used as an emblem of Roman hierarchy, Jewish plutocracy and must not be contaminated from the cesspool of rotten politics, and it must be too exalted to
float over territory ruled by ignorance and superstition.
Brother Atkinson announced that
there would be more sermons to follow and that the "Protestant ministers must hew to the line and let the chips fall where they may," that the
great work of our forefathers might not be weakened and that Luther,
Wesley, Knox and the host of early
Protestant leaders' teachings should still be remembered. He warned his audience of the secret foes that lurked behind the great Jewish organization controlled by a centralized power similar to the ancient Sanhedrin, of the insidious machinations of the Roman church
for temporal power, of the famous Jesuitical order and its offspring, and the seducing of certain great newspapers, the expenditure of millions for Roman Catholic and papal propaganda. He lifted the mask from the "halfbaked Protestants" who can not see the storm arising, but will be first to seek protection or .implore forgiveness for their cowardice when it is too late. We 100 per cent. Americans of Rockfield are proud. that we-have onewit,"'"'"ii1"" """KEonstitution rtni ir ii - Yours, i

citizenship you will be very glad to

Editor The Fiery Cross:
Dear Sir The article by Allyn II.
Tedmail in The Fiery Cross of the Jan. 19, 1923, issue is certainly a
timely article and should be in the
hands of every Indianapolis police
man along with a copy of the Indi
anapolis Star of Jan. 21, 1923.
The affair of Patrolman John
Helm, one of the oldest members of the police force, should wake some
one up. If one of the older members
can empty his gun at two people without result, what would a younger
member do?
Of course, he may be so old that his
best days are over. If that is tbecase why does not the pension bureau take the matter in hand so that Indianap
olis will have-an able police force?
I have been told that the police do
not shoot at. crooks but shoot in the
air to frighten them. If that is the case then the crooks should be taught
to be frightened. I think it a poor policy to carry a gun if you do not in
tend to use it. As the police are armed I do not see why they should not be taught to use their guns.
In the affair at the Fletcher Ameri
can bank, Special Policeman Roberts
showed his poor marksmanship by missing at close range.
A great many robberies of recent
date have been pulled near police
headquarters. Some people wonder,
how it is done. I would suggest that
it is one of the safest places, as a citizen with almost any make of gun would prove as much so if not more
dangerous.
