J. H. Hibner of Monticello was in Rensselaer today. Gladys Prouty went to Chicago today. Matta Hauser went to Frankfort Saturday to spend the holidays with friends. Louis H. Hamilton spent Christmas with his daughter, Mrs. W. C. Miller, of Indianapolis. Fred Anderson, Joseph Kohloff, W. W. Sage and John Parkison went to Chicago this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Hendrickson visited with relatives at Delphi Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Dean spent Christmas with 'relatives at Chalmers. 7 Mins Doris Larsh went to Lafayette today to spend a few days with friends and relatives. L. E. Greenwood ‘ and son, Russell, of Remington, were in Rensselaer today. Miss Ollie Tanner and Zelma Cockerill spent the Christmas holidays at Rose lawn. Mrs. A. Anderson of New York City, who had been visiting her sister, Mrs. Russell Van Hook, left for her home today. Russell Lesh, who had been at the St. Elizabeth hospital for the past few weeks, was transferred to the Jasper county hospital Friday. Mrs. Rose Roy, of Remington, went to Hammond Saturday to spend Christmas with her son, Raymond.
Mrs. Thurston Otterburg and son, of near Virgie were guests here today of Mr. and. Mrs. John Werner. Mr. and Mrs. G, C. Brown of Monon are guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Firman Rutherford of College avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Randle Gorham of Brookston and Frank Fox of Detroit are guests of Mrs. Caroline Gorham and family. Mr. and Mrs. Leßoy Kurtz and son, Edward, were Christmas guests of his brother, JoKn Kurtz, and family of Chicago. , Mrs. B. H. Smith returned today to in Elkhart after a visit here with her mother, Mrs. M. Y. Slaughter and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Jones, William Jones and Miss Blossom Brown of Delphi were Christmas guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Adair of College avenue. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Hammond and son, Maurice, spent Christmas at Chicago Heights with their daughter, Mrs. L. L. Colvert, and family. Frank Fross an inmate of the Jasper County Farm died Friday evening and was buried Sunday afternoon in Weston cemetery. He was more than sixty years of age. Mrs. Virgil Hamilton, of Auburn, •N. Y., who had been here to attend the funeral of her grandmother, Mrs. Norman Warner, left for her home today. , , William Pagette, of Gary, who had been spending the Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Greenwood, and family, at Remington, returned home today. Bessie Stuart, who had been spending the past few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stuart, of Wolcott, returned to her work at Lafayette today. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Williams and family of Three Lakes, Wis., are visiting relatives at Goodland and j Wadena. Mr. Williams is an out-1 fielder with the Philadelphia Nationals. Postal authorities state that the holiday mail this year fell far below that of 1919. Traffic on the Monon during the week-end is reported to have been heavier than for Hie past several years.
