James Rice is home from Rensselaer school on the sick list. J. R. Mulder went to Chicago Monday for a few days’ visit with his son, Roberts and family. Wm. Boyle attended the play “A Fool For Luck” at Wheatfield Sunday evening. Dr, Bassett of Goodland has been named as county health officer to succeed the late Dr. McCann. The trustees for the new county hospital have been named and will have charge of the construction work. The trustees are J. T. Hameton and Mathew Moran of Goodland, Paul Weishaar of Brook and A. B. Tolin of Colfax township. Merry Christmas.

Trustee Fairchild, Miss Marshall, Edna Erwin, Mrs. Fred Wolff and Rev. Templin, as chauffeur, went to the teachers’ institute at Rensselaer last Saturday and of course let the auto stand outside all day until it was frozen up solid, and on the return trip home the radiator bursted open and the party had to set out in the cold until Caleb Cheever came from home and towed them in. Stub said it was the chilly ride of the season. Have you paid your dog tax yet? If ( not you had better settle with Trustee Fairchild. The prosecutor is after all those who have not yet paid. Save the trip to Rensselaer and over $25 costs. Mrs. Lawrence 80l and daughter, Alice, went to Chicago Monday for a few days’ visit. Gbas. Dr. Hewitt and family and Al Konovsky and family motored to Valparaiso last Saturday.
