OUR COUNTY ADMINISTRATION

CLEAN, EFFICIENT, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS. ■l No county in Indiana or any other state of the Union has a cleaner, more efficient, ond more accommodating set of officials. than does this good county of Jasper. This county, which is making advancement as rapidly and as substantially as any county to be found * anywhere, and thus requiring large increases in public expenditures, has been in the hands of public officials who have kept their hands Clean, their heads clear, and not even a hint of crookedness or of incompetency has been possible. The increase in the taxable valuation of the county has been 100 per cent in the last ten years. All of our progress has kept step with this material growth. Our schools have better teachers, miles of drainage and improved roads have been constructed and thousands of dollars have passed through the hands of our county officials without an error in judgment in the expenditure or the failure to account for * single cent. These officials have been and are how Republicans. Some of them have been re-nominated by their par,ty and are up for re-election. They deserve at least the vote of every Republican county. ing his first term as sheriff, has zsaasß their duty to the people of the county more faithfully *°d more is° up for re-election and if good _ . — annrn tm l lUm service mems approval, ms majority should be the largest ever re- * •* ~.<.- J Wriobt. th* Rj. \JJ. candidate, for re-election as coroner, IS pi 131 RD DTMrfutTl fl 1H lie office will always be well filled

He is a high class official and deserves this splendid compliment of not having opposition. Henry W. past eighteen years of Dick Hanley, than whom no better ever heard a law suit. His large supply of common sense and his absolute fairness to all parties at all times has made him one of the most popular officials that has ever served the people in this county. He was urged to stand for re-election, but emphatically declined. 'Under his training he had developed a group of lawyers, everyone of them thoroughly equipped to follow his splendid example in dealing out justice and caring for other court business. There was a real race for the Republican nomination. The fitness of the • candidates made it really embarrassing for Republicans to make a selection. But Hie matter was decided in the primary and George A. Williams received more votes than any other candidate and he is the candidate of the party. Everybody in this county knows Mr. Williams. His success at the bar has been accompanied by a public activity that has given him a large and most favorable acquaintance in this and Newton county. Mr. Williams will bring to this position of honor and trust a fitness, ability and a suitable personality that will enable him to discharge his duties with intelligence and fairness. „
