REPUBLICANS WILL CARRY STATE BY SUBSTANTIAL VOTE, SAYS CHAIRMAN WASMUTH. WILSON WILL BE REBUKED .. Indianapolis, Oct 27. —Special.)— The Republican party will be victorious in Indiana next Tuesday, E. M. Wasmuth, chairman of the Repub- J llcan State Committee, declared in a statement issued here today. Mr. Wasmuth sums up the political trend and asserts that the voters will not stand for “Mr. Wilson’s un-American league, but prefer Mr. Harding’s position for an Americanised league based on law and justice.” * Ills statement follows: “The Republicans will carry Indiana by a substantial vote. Of this I am absolutely sure. I have canvassed the state situation carefully and I know whereof I speak. There are many reasons for this. First. American citizens will not stand for Mr. Wilson’s un-American league but prefer Mr. Harding's position for an Americanised league based upon law and justice. Disgusted With Democrats. "Secondly," they are thoroughly disgusted with the wanton waste of their money and resources which has been going on In Washington and throughout the country tor the last seven years. They want an administration which will reduce the-cost of living. They want an administration which wIU maintain substantial wages by means of prosperity at home which can bo brought about only by a Sound protective tariff policy. They want a president who win surround himself with a strong cabinet which must be developed from the best minds within the Rb- , publican party. Senator Watson and Warren T. McCray also will be elected by substantial figures. Constitution on Trial.. "The Constitution will be on trial, election day. Let the citizens of Indiana display the American flag. Let us maintain inviolate the sacred heritage whiek the fatheirs have given us and let America go on strong and confident for world leadership and world helpfulness”
