Alvin Swaim returned today to his home in Buchanon, Mich. W. J. Wright, Jr., spent the day in Chciago. W. C. Lutes went to Monon for a visit with Catherine RoMhs’today. The Revr-D. A. Rodgers of Star City was in Rensselaer today. * Mike Wolfe of Keener township was in Rensselaer Friday. • James Blake and Milton Julian of Remington were here Friday. Simon Thompson and Floyd Meyers went to Chicago today to see the Chicago-Iowa„ football game. Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Potter and three children of near Kniman were in Rensselaer today. Elizabeth Ryan, of Hammond, came today for a visit with relatives near Mt Ayr.
Mrs. D. S. Baier accompanied her mother to her borne at North Ver•non today for a visit. Robert Bachlier and daughter, 'Mary, of Remington, went to Elgin, Illinois, today for a week’s visit. Mia. J. A. Bell, of Reno, Nev., who had been visiting Mrs. Michael Kuboske, left for her home today. Mrs. Randle Gorham hnd baby of Monon were the guests today of her father, Lem, Griggs. team is playing the Lafayette A. A’s at Riverside park this Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Edson Murray went to Sullivan today for a visit with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. W. M. Thompson. Bernice Iliff, Sarah Jones and Everett Iliff, of Rose Lawn, are here for a visit with Miss Bertha Jones. Ernest Iliff, who attended the Fall Festival and Stock Show here Friday, returned this morning to his home in Roselawn. Miss Mary Sprague, of Bridgeton, who had been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sprague, returned home today. . Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Mrs. Josephine Miller Gordan of Indianapolis, in sending remittance for her mothers’ Republican, writes, “Mother was operated on for gall stones a week ago and is making a remarkable recovery.” Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Abbott and daughter, of Indiana Harbor, came today for a visit with Mrs. Abbott’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Reeve.
