Senator Watson is not only one of the real leaden in the United States senate, he is a . national figure whose political fortunes in Inthis year are being watched with much interest throughout the whole country. A special endeavor should be made by Republicans everywhere to see that Watson gets the large vote to which his eminent services to his party and his country entitles him. Senator James E. Watson is one of tte strongest men in the United States senate today. He is a dose student in all national affaire and his service in the senate has given him a prominence and recognition in government councils where questions of great national importance are considered. His ability, his geniality, and his activity has done much to give Indiana more prominence in government affairs than any other middle or western state. A failure to return Mr. Watson to the senate will be a disaster to the elate of Indiana. No other man of any politics in the state can fill Watson's place because of bis past experience and the knowledge he has gained of national affaire. • He is a strong man; he is a lead- t er; he is a man that has done In-, Kiana proud and the state cannot afford to lose him at this critical time. The nation needs his services; the nation needs strong men

of ability at this time. 'Hiere are t none stronger; no better American, no more able man in the UnitedStetes I senate than Hon. James E. Watson, senator from the state of Indiana. For the good of the state forthe good of the nation at a time when strong support is needed, every voter in the state should lay amde personalities, small things, and grasp the broader views of Americanism, patriotism, at a time when those loyal sentiments are so much needed, and vote to return Indiana's able senator to the support of the incoming American administration. Vote for Mr. Watson as you would for Mr. Harding, and aid in supporting Mr. Harding in making his administration' the success that you would have him make for America and American principles. The president must have the support of the congress and the senate. No president can do things alone. That has been tried recently and proved a failure. That is one reason why you are going to vote for a change. In voting for the change then remember to cast your ballots also in support of that change in the national halls of congress.
CLEVELAND WINS FIFTH WORLD'S SERIES GAME
Cleveland took the fifth game of the world’s series from Brooklyn at Cleveland Sunday, nicking the offerings of Burleigh Grimes, Brooklyn ace, for twelve solid smacks, including two homers, one by Smith with the bases choked, and the other by Bagby, Cleveland pitcher, with two on. Brooklyn made thirteen bits but was unable to bunch them effectively. Willie Wambsganss, Cleveland second baseman, turned a tnck equalled but once before in major league base ball when he completed a triple play unassisted. Kilduff and Miller had singled in succession when Mitchell, who had relieved Grimes, smashed a liner high and to the left of Wambsganss. Wamby leaped into the air, snatched the ball and ran to second before Kilduff could return to the bag and then tagged Miller who was charging for second. It was a brilliant performance and no better setting could have been given the play than to have it occur in a world’s series gamfe. ■ The series after the Sunday game stood three to two in favor of Cleveland. The teams met at Cleveland again this Monday afternoon.
