J. H. Holden went to Monticello today. Margaret Walters went to Chicago today. Mrs. John Koihoff is' spending the day in Lafayette. D. S. Makeover went to Chicago on the early morning train. Mrs. Harry Murray went to Lafayette for another eye treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bowsher are spending several day* in Lafayette. Ed Robinson and Gerald Holspent Sunday at Bass Luella Robinson has accepted a position as reporter with The Republican. Vernon Tell, of Lafayette spent the week-end with Miss Florence Kain. Rev. J. B. Fleming went to Crawfordsville to attend a Synod conference. C. A. Ross and Harry Parker left Sunday for a few days’ fishing trip in Michigan. Mrs. Mary Ralph came from Lafayette Saturday for a short visit with Millie Minniear. Thelma Martindale returned from Lafayette this morning where she had spent the week-end. Louise Blanke returned to her home in Chicago Saturday after visiting Mrs. E. J. Duvall. Wm. Holmes went to Hammond this morning where he. unemployed as a fireman on the Menon. Mrs. C. W. Coen of South Bend came today for a week’s visit with Mrs. Oren Parker and relatives.

Mrs. Monroe Carr took her sister, Mrs. Larkin Potts, to the Old Soldier’s Home at Lafayette today. Helen Ransmeier returned to her home in Chicago today. She teaches music at Brook and Morocco. Clarence Mackey of Chicago spent the week-end here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Mackey. Helen Kiplinger returned today to Gary where she is taking a course in the Gary Business College. Miss Jannett Nesbith, who has been on special duty at the hospital, returned to Chicago Saturday. . Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Strauser of Newland went to Gary this morning where they expect to spend the winter. The Women’s Home Missionary of the M. E. Church will meet Tuesday afternoon at the church parlors. Mrs. A. W- Martin and daughter, of Surrey, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Allen Osman and family of this city. A Harding and Coolidge picture is displayed at the home of B. Frank Alter on North McKinley avenue. Mrs. F. Mulcahy came down from Roselawn this mOrning to have some dental work done by a Rensselaer dentist. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hatton, of Kokomo, came Saturday for a visit with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Putts. Miss Fleming, daughter of Rev. J. B. Fleming returned to Lafayette last night where she is employed in the city schools. Chede Jordan went to Indianapolis today to attend a convention of Public Health Nurses to be held at the Hotel Severin on the 4,6, 6. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Watson drove to Chicago Sunday, stopping at Hebron for Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Watson and babies, who accompanied them to the city. Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Nesbitt returned to their home in Vincennes today after a visit here with his brother, E. D. Nesbitt, and wife of College avenue. Editor Richard Bowie and Township Trustee John Bowie of Wheatfield, and Trustee Clifford Fairchild of DeMotte were in Rensselaer Saturday. Marie Madlung spent Sunday with her people in Monon. She is the office girl at Kuboske A Watters, and makes her home here with Mrs. Mary Drake. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Messenger, of Newland, and Mrs. L. V. Boardwell, of this city, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Alien Osman and family of this city. Harold Clark retunned from Indianapolis Sunday evening where he had gone to attend a reunion of his former classmates at the State School for the Deaf.

G. V. .Ulrey, who had been at Andrews for the past ten days, returned here this morning and will assist in the management of the Potter & Sawyer seed business. Dorothy Spence? of Remington left last wepk for a two months’ visit in the East. While there she expects to visit in Philadelphia, Washington, New York and other Eastern points of interest. Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Jones of St Johns returned Sunday from Rochester, Minn., and left today for Cincinnati, O. Mr. Jones is taking a vacation and will return to his work at St. Johns on October 16. W. P. Kitchings and wife went to Chicago today for a short • visit. Lafayette, Miss Florence Knickerbocker, of Kankakee, Miss Maude Downs, of Chicago, William Bowers, of this city, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Knickerbocker here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. A. ,0. Moor& Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Bringle and Robert Smith returned from an extended automobile tour through the eastern part of this country. While away they had a very pleasant visit with John Knapp and family of Panama, New York.
