Clarence Martin was quite sick the first of the week. Mrs. Charley Bloody is spending the week at Indianapolis. Rev. Mr. Biesel of Medaryville was a caller at the Rev. J. E. Dean home Monday. Miss Laura Maxwell has been confined to her home with sickness caused from a very severe boil. Rev. and Mrs. Cramer and Elsie Cramer are visiting friends in the neighborhood of Barkley church. Mr. and Mts. J. F. Payne went to Frankfort Sunday to attend a reunion held in the Frankfort park. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Wolf entertained Mr. Wolf's parents from Monon last week and took them to their home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Swaim of Buchanon. Mich., came Saturday for a visit with Mrs. Swaim’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Jud Adams and Miss Alice Sigman spent several days last week and the first of this week, visiting relatives in Illinois. Gerry Snedeker and son, William, went to Buchanon, Mich., Tuesday morning to do some work on the buildings on their farm there. In spite of the somewhat rainy and unpleasant w eather Wednesday a large crowd was present at the Ladies' Aid held at the Barkley parsonage- After the business meeting of the society was disposed of, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, sandwiches .and coffee were. served. There were between sixty-five and seventy present, who expressed themselves is having a very delightful afternoon. Mrs Earl Barkley, Mrs. Paul Hall, Mrs. Claud Williams and Mrs. J. E. Doan comprise the section that entertained. “A large part of virtue consists in good habits”. And one of the very best habits you cut form is of attending regularly of some Sunday School and church. If you live in the community of Barkley church you have no excuse for not forming, this habit for there is preaching services once every Sunday and Sunday School every Sunday morning at ten o’clock.
