MARGARET HILL M’CARTER WINS HER POINT

Margaret Hill McCarter, former teacher in the schools here, a member of the women’s republican national committee and first woman ever to address a republican national convention, who aroused widespread comment by refusing to give her age to the registration clerk in Kansas when she went to register that sne might vote at the coming election, has won her point. The State’s Attorney General of Kansas took only six hours to rule that it was not necessary to say anything further than “over twenty-one.” Mrs. McCarter’s case was regarded as a test case and the decision of the Kansas officials probably means that the fair voter will not have to divulge her age at the polls.
