LIFE OF SPLENDID CITIZEN COMES TO CLOSE
Death brought to a close the long I and useful’ life of John Moosmiller, I for almost a half century a resident of this city, at six-thirty o clock this Thursday morning at the St. I Elizabeth hospital in Lafayette I where he was taken on August 161 and, whert an operation was made I five days later. His death Was due I to cancer. ■ . I Mr. Moosmiller was takeni to the I hospital in this city about three! weeks ago, but his condition was so I serious that it was decided to remove him to the Lafayette hospital. 1 Mr. Moosmiller was bom m Bavarai, Germany, July 25, 1850. Two years inter he eame to Jasper county rantinued his residence in or near Kens-1 selaer until death called, a period of fortv-eight years. _ . • In the year 1880 his marriage to Miss Josephine Putts, who survives him, occurred and to this ®® w n mx children were bora, all of whom survive him. Joseph, Mathew, John and Louis, all residing in or near this city; Mrs. Danwl Tanner rs DeMotte; and Mrs. Michael Dwane, of Chalmers. Four sisters also survive, Mrs.. Joseph Hoover and Mrs. Peter Wagner, of Rensselaer; Mrs. Theresa Bastian, of Denver, Colo., and Ms. Jennie Rutz, of Chicago. During his long residence here Mr. Moosmiller was known as an honorable and upright citizen, and his Siiet, unassuming way won him e respect of all who knewhim. The funeral services will be held at nine o’clock Saturday morning at the Catholic church m this eity.
