LEE. S. B. Snedeker and family entertained relatives from Ohio over Sunday. Ike Watts of Buffalo spent Tuesday With his brother, Jam.es Watts, who is very ill. . 1 There will be no preaching here Sunday on account of the minister taking a vacation. Miss Edith Brock has returned home from Bloomington, where she has been attending school. Mrs. Vernon Jacks and son, Jack, went to Lafayette Monday for a few days’ visit with relatives. Chas. Lefler and family and Joe Clark, wife and son returned from a trip to Pennsylvania Saturday. Mrs. Harry Rishling and little son went to Rensselaer Tuesday for a few days’ visit with relatives and friends. , , Miss Cora Noland returned home Thursday after a few days’ visit with friends and relatives in Morocco and Kankakee, HI. • Mrs. Harold Lamar and two children of Lafayette visited a few days last week with relatives here. Her mother, Mrs. Ida Lewie, returned home with her for a visit. F. L. Overton and family and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Warren left Tuesday for Pennsylvania. They are making the trip by auto and expect to be gone about three weeks. GILLAM. Miss Bertha is visitnig in the Ryan home this week. . , Jack Turner went to Illinois the latter part of the Mr. John Dexter of Chicago is visiting at the Coppess home this week Mrs. Lloyd Maddaus spent Friday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Coppess. . . Mr. and Mrs. John Manning spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Lester Guild near Kouts. Mrs. Ralph Benford and children of near Winamac visited a few days the latter part of the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wilbtt and sons, Chas, and Harley, visited a few days with relatives the latter part of the week. Th® came from Mitchell, S. D. They made the trip in a big Studebaker touring car and were just four days driving from Mitchell to Rensselaer. They camped out of nights ana reported a fine trip from start to finish. They were stopping at the Mrs. Alice Pogue home Sunaay, Mrs. Pogue being Mrs. Willitts sister. Twenty-nine of the near relatives gathered there with well filled baskets and all enjoyed » dinner on the lawn. Mr. WiUitt and family continued their trip Sunday afternoon to Culver to visit their son, Harry, and /aimly and from there they will go to Michigan before returning to Dakota.

The Ladies’ Aid will meet with Mrs. John Jones Sept. Ist. Mrs. Ray Boze will help to entertain. Chas. Stultz of Renseslaer was the guest of his daughter, Mrs. Levi Herr and family Monday and Tuesday. (Robert Donald and family and George Johnson and wife were the guests of the latter’s brother near Norway. F. T. Ringheisen and family of near Mt. Ayr were the guests of Frank Cochran and family over Sunday. Mrs. Van Wood and Mrs. C. B. Wells of Rensselaer were the guests of Mrs. J. R. Phillips and family Wednesday. Chas. Ferguson and family, Ruth Cochran and Albert Campbell were the over Sunday guests of friends at Watseka, Hl. Misses Ruth and Madge Robinson of Hammond came Tuesday for a few days’ visit with their aunt, Mrs. J. R. Phillips and other friends.

Sunday School and Sermon in the morning. In the afternoon covert by the Boys’ Band, lecture by Dr. J. Ladd Thomas, and a concert by the Bohemian Ladies. In the evening, a concert by the Boys’ Band and the' concert by the Ladies’ Orchestra will close the 1920 Chautauqua.
