Reason Dunn of Fair Oaks was in Rensselaer today. Mrs. W. F. Stump and children of Wheatfield were here today. Mary and Frances Melady went to Champaign, Di., today for a visit with relatives. Mrs. Fred Waymire returned from a visit with relatives in Valparaiso today. The Rev. D. A. Rodgers of Star City came today to visit his tenant, Fred Anderson and family. J. M. Shields went to Salem today for a visit with relatives and to attend the Washington county fair. . Cordelia. Stockton underwent an operation at the hospital for the removal of her tonsils, Mrs. Elmer Brannaman re-enter-ed the hospital today for medical attention. _ • • Mrs. Myrtle Rees and daughter, Florence Rees of North McKinley Avenue went to Lafayette today. Mn and Mrs. George W, Hopkins went to Indianapolis Tuesday for a visit with relatives. John Bowie, the trustee of Wheatfield township, was in Rensselaer today. W. V. Porter, Warren Poole and Jacob Johnson went to Kankakee, Hl., today to attend the Tri-State Fair.

Krealer attended the Tenth Indiana District medical convention at Hammond today. : Mrs. Mabel Barklpy and children of Chicago came today for a visit with her uncle, Milton Michaels and family. Orabelle Duvall and son, Robert have returned home after a visit with her brother, Carl, and family at, Detroit, Mich. I Mrs. Edgar Day and two children left today for Manor, Pa., where she will visit with her parents. Dorothy Spencer of Remington went from here today to Sheridan where she will attend a Delta Zeta house party. John Gant, who had visited Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hasty and other relatives, returned today to his home in Attica. -c Frank Reafanyder, an employee of the Republican, went to Goshen today where he will spend a weekfa vacation. Frank Denton, who was here to see his brother, Harlow Denton, at the hospital, returned today to his home in Lafayette. • Richard Halligan'and family, who had been visiting here with his brothers and sisters, left this morning for their home in Ottawa, DI. Malvin Velkovitch, who had been the guest of Joseph Dluzak and family, returned today to his home in Cincinnati, 0. « Mrs. L. A. Mecklenburg of Gary came last evening, for a visit with her husband’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mecklenburg and other relatives. Ruth Godshall, who had visited her father, E. K. Godahall, went to Chicago today where »he will spend two weeks before. continuing to her home in Aurora, 111. Harry C. Duffies of Chicago is the guest of C. E. Prior and family. Mr. Duffies is a linotype operator on the Chicago Evening Post. J. M. Mitchell reports that his oats on his Jordan township farm averaged 73 1-8 bushels per acre. The farm is occupied by James Fleming. Marie Mein returned today to her home in Chicago. Miss Mein is a nune and tome Tuesday to care for a patient, but did not remain. She was special nurse for Don Wright during his recent operation and recovery. Archibald Crisler, who is taking governmental vocational training at Madison, Wis., after a visit here with C. E. Prior and continued today to his home in Mellersburg. M Esther Leopold, daughter of Mr. and Mn. Louis Leopold of Chicago, came this afternoon for a visit with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Leopold and other relaWorland of Shelbyville and Mn. Margaret been visiting vnth D. M.
